Stableford on the captains course and still not playing to my handicap and scratched out 30 points today with 1 wipe and too many single point holes. The driver was behaving today but just seemed to scramble all day. 15 points on both nines.
A tune up next week hopefully will sort some stuff out.

Chilly down there for the early tee off?

It was a balmy 14 degree when I hit off yesterday at 1130.

Do you take your cart?

For 3 rounds of golf, the extra petrol is less than cart hire.

they now charge $5.00 ( five dollars) for cart users that are not registered with the club, but still cheaper than hiring a cart.

Another day at pennant and played at mooroopna and after a tuneup the other day there is a couple things I have changed but nothing major. Today the changes took a bit to get used to but a couple bad holes did not help. I lost 5 and 3 and had to give 3 shots but the couple bad holes had taken their toll and my opponent was playing steady golf.

Par today on a composite course of both back nines and started on the captains course and I was too busy thinking about the changes I have incorporated in my swing and was hitting the ball ok at times but need to practice more to make them second nature. I finished 9 down for the day and could not buy a putt to save myself.
There were some good signs that the changes will be positive but it’s going to take a little while to make the changes second nature.
The change is flaring the left foot to allow a good turn and I have to get used to seeing my foot flared at address and getting my alignment right.
A few games and hopefully I will not have to think about it and just do it.

Played handicap pennant at Kialla yesterday and the slope rating is 110 and I was playing off 8 for the day and my opponent was off 12, it was a close match for most of the day but his experience on the course helped him get over the line. The course has a few dogleg holes and club selection was important but luck was not on my side yesterday. The changes to my setup are getting easier to do and ball striking is improving as result but more time is needed to ingrain the setup.
Wednesday is the next comp day and I will see what happens and hopefully play close to my handicap.

Stableford on a composite course of both front nines and started on the captains course and off the white markers. It was a bit of a scramble at times on the front nine and finished with 16 points with three single point holes and one 3 point hole. The back nine started better with a 3 point par but promptly wiped the par 3 second hole. The changes I have made to my setup and swing are getting better and my ball striking is getting to a place where I am happy with. There is still a crap shot that creeps in but it’s getting better. I finished with 17 points on the nine with one wipe for a total of 33 points.

Par today on the captains course and started on the back nine and wiped the 10th then parred the 11th for a square and then had an easy tap in birdie on the the par 5 12th and scrambled from then on to be 2 down at the turn. The second nine was worse and had 4 down with the short game heading to the bar early. There are some positive signs with how my game is going but the score does not show it. The upshot of today was I finished 6 down but hopefully things will turn around soon.

Played at black bull yesterday and finished with 87nett 77 and first time I have played the full 18 and was happy with my game but missed a couple chances. There was nothing too bad with my driver and only a couple errant fade/slices but overall I was happy with my driving. A lowlight/highlight was on a long (180 metre ) par 3 and topped my drive and had 100 metres to the pin and hit a wedge 2 foot behind the hole and walked off with a par.
Today was at Yarrawonga on the Lakes course and we started on the 15th and there were some good points in today’s game and the wind did make it a challenge at times. Bunker play today was a good and I felt comfortable getting out and did not drop any shots. I finished with 89 nett 79 and about mid pack with a few good points to go forward with.
