They changed the recipe around 15 years ago.
They used to be quite peppermint hot, but are now quite crap

Bummer

Used to love how they tasted - nice and hot

Played yesterday at Southern, after missing last week due to night shift.     MM on cored greens that were a bit sandy.   Stroke off the back and counting putts.   Two tees and as usual hit off the 10th.   Playing off 11 hcp for the day.   Very strong northerly wind made things tough

Can I say at this point........the crap continues........

49 first 9.    (Included a 4 putt on the 10 th and a 5 putt on the 13th)    24 putts    Birdied the 18th though

47 second 9.  18 putts

96 nett 85

only 2 pars and the birdie

Really over this crap and lost interest pretty quickly yesterday

OOM yesterday at Moonah Links (Open course).     Handicap of 10 for the day was never going to be enough, considering the poor form that I have been going through.    As it turned out I was right but at least I managed to scrape into the 30's (well 30) for a change.    I was pretty happy with avoiding a wipe around the front 9 and getting in with 18 points.

A couple of little errors that shouldn't have happened (hitting my second shot on the second into the left fairway bunker) when I thought I had plenty of club to fly it.  2 in the bunker but managed to get up and down for a bogey.    :)

A great par on three, as I think that is a really tough hole and especially tough second shot.  :)

Wasted an approach shot on 4 for bogey

Great hybrid into the 5th green against the wind for par

etc.....

Back 9 wasn't as good but I still scored points until I got to 14.   Good 4 wood into the fairway for position.   Hit 2nd fat and into the bunker 50 feet ahead of me.    Splash out short and don't get the chip up the slope.  WIPE!!!!

15th - Great drive (not good enough to beat C Grade) but 8 iron in.....3 putt par and lost a shot to the field.   :(

16th - Great position in the fairway and skinny 8 iron into the front bunker.   Splashed out and the slope took it WAY left into a bowl.   4 putt.....wipe!!!

17th - 5 iron not flush and stopped on the up slope.   Duffed chip and it came back further then where I started.   3rd just made it to level ground.   Double got me one point

18th - Bogey after my 3rd shot came up short and I 2 putted.

Not sure of pars  (5?) but 9 FIR and an few GIR so that's a start from the crap (or carp) in the past

Just a couple to silly mistakes around the back but some good stuff to give me heart.   Good to catch up with the guys again and great to share a cart with Ink. :)

I managed to sneak in a bucket of a 105 balls at the range yesterday.   I took in 7 clubs but only used GW, PW, 9 iron and 7 iron.   The swing is so bad that I was hitting them fat and skinny.   Unfortunately the right ankle is playing up after Sunday's OOM (lucky we used carts) so I know I was favouring it.    Trying to get some direction consistency and mucked around with ball position and half shots.

I think I got some benefit out of it so we will see, next Tuesday, at Riversdale.

Geez Frank, you know you probably hit the worst clubs you could when you have a dodgy front ankle.

Eg short irons more weight on the front foot ....... longer irons and driver, weight more even, etc.

Fat and skinny is usually a result of moving around over the ball, eg swaying ...... did you try just hitting them without any weight transfer at all? (eg keeping your weight on the front foot throughout the swing)

Hopefully whatever is ailing your golf will get the fark away from you soon buddy . tis not nice to hear you struggling on course, cause I know how much you love playing. Keep your chin up Frank !! :D
