I don't think weather conditions helped much in the second half of last year..do you think that could have played a small part?

As much as I'd love to blame the weather, I'm not going to.

During the first part of winter I was playing quite well.

In late July I went to Sri Lanka for a holiday for three weeks.

When I came back I played like a peanut for about 5 months.

Just lost all rhythm and my putting went out the window completely.

I remember getting really frustrated a lot on course.

Very few golfers perform well when they're in that type of mind frame.

Probably should have taken a week or two off, but unfortunately this game is like crack to me.

I simply can't walk away from it

Great stuff Koiom... looking forward to watching/reading your journey. I've got a lot out of mine over the years, documenting things I learnt, both good and bad. I often go back and read through to check tips from others as well. It's amazing how quickly you can forget some gems, bring them back into your game and sharpen the pencil.

Whilst I only recall playing once together (Le Frogge) I seem to remember we had similar levels in the game. Not complete hackers, but by no means tour pro's either. So I went and looked at my stats from last year and compared them to the ones you mentions below. I've put them in red.

Here's my current stats via my Golfshot app to give you an idea of where my game is currently at:

FIR - 47% (misses are 24% left and 29% right) 45%

GIR - 35% (no where near good enough) 28%

PUTTS - 1.85 per hole (have reasonable success in getting up and down from greenside) 1.85

PUTTS per GIR - 2.02 ( this is ****. Nothing worse than 3 putt bogeys) 2.14

SCORING ON ALL HOLES:

Eagle - 0% (only ever had one in my life) Grr...  never had one!

Birdies - 6% (must improve this markedly) 3.4%

Pars - 38% 37%

Bogies - 38% 40%

Double or worse - 19% (no where near good enough. Must stop the blowout holes) 20%

OK, bring on 2014!

So it's comfortable to say that our games are at very similar levels my friend!

I look forward to hopefully swapping tales and tips and see if we can both get down into singles again.

My suggestion is a fitted tampon will stop the bleeding. See Jon at TGP he'll sort you out.

Got stats on your scrambling?

Wow Smergs, almost mirrored stats there!.

Your 'cap trend is completely different to mine though  :(

From memory you would have shave more than a few strokes off yours since that day at Le Frogge

Don't mind a stat either. :)

Think Cletus is on to something good in golf talk where we can all compare our stats.
