Yaaaaaay, a fishing thread........

This monster was caught under the Rip Bridge few weeks ago, was a lot of fun on light gear.......

Wasn't targeting snapper, but was a nice by-catch!! ;)

I don't go fishing any where near as much as I used to, but once or twice a year the missus and I will head to somewhere like Eden, Mallacoota or Metung.

I always take some light spin gear to wet a line.

Can anyone recommend a few fishing spots on the Gold Coast to take the kids?

We will have a car up there plus a couple of light rods etc.

Regards Ari

Cracking flattie koiom, we fished metung for a week last year and got nothing anywhere that one wow. Probably did spend too much time there at the pub to and from fishing spots :-) we did smack the ting down at lakes entrance thankfully.

Well it is a good pub!

If you're ever down that way again, I recommend flicking a few plastics around the piers in Chinaman's Creek.

I've had a lot of good sessions there.

Gawd, I'd be hung if I kept them up here on the Murray river 2 putts. I've heard they're excellent eating ? I caught heaps on blades chasing reddies and yellas.

I cheated CB and used a net; I guess that is still fishing ;)

I've got about 40 of them in an Aquaponics system in my greenhouse  ..... they are good eating.
