Righto, time to start an ISG fishing thread (not phishing for GCG) as there are a few of us anglers on this forum(codboy,Grooves nob) which do a lot of fishing from all parts of the country and its always good to see what's been caught.

Ill start off with a quick report.

Went out today off Swansea heads to chase some kingies on fresh squid that we had caught the last few nights before in the lake.

They don't call squid "king candy" for nothing, we had about 16 baits and every bait got a fish, though none were legal, biggest was 57cm and legal is 60cm.

had 2 squid left so we headed back down to Swansea bridge as the small kings weren't cutting the mustard.

on our arrival a bloke was hooked onto a good king of about 7kg which was duly landed with a few yahoos, so we were quite excited .

mate put a small squid on the downrigger and went for a troll and no later than 2 mins he was hooked onto a similar sized fish which was also landed.

just cleaned and sashimied some and it was absolutely beautiful, nothing beats fresh fish, especially if you have caught it yourself.

Nearly forgot to mention that a few of us are going to NZ to chase the kings and im quite nervous to think how hard a 20kg+ fish is going to pull after seeing how hard this fish went.

Step father in-law, nice boat, all options, 10's of thousands. We went to use it when visiting and axle broke towing out of covered car port as it was rusted through!? Been sitting for so bloody long!

Pfft, gotta have loose coin for boats.
