Contemplating the two 9s the secret to scoring well for me is
1. Don’t hit it into trouble
2. Hit a reasonable pitch or chip onto the green within a feet or even a few meters of the hole
3. No 3 putts.
If I can do this I play very well.
Hmmmm.

Ocean Shotes pro am on Tuesday.
It’s looking a monster of the tips. Most of the par 5’s are 540-over 550. The Short par 3 is 158 Most par 3’a will be a 5 wood at least if I don’t lay up. Pins will be set up for a pro comp with slick greens.
game plan. Hit it with rythm . Don’t over swing. Bogey golf will be amazing result.
Slope is 138 gives me 30 off my 24 hc. 😮😄

Had an interesting lesson this morning. My coach was stopping the last vestiges of OTT swing. My couple of 6 irons that I new I drilled before the lesson went 145-149m on yrackman. Almost on the correct path maybe .5 degree out to in. Not far of the maximum attainable at my swing speed (155m or so) but plagued by inconsistency still. My poorer shots still 6 deg out to in at impact.
His answer - I can’t get the body motion working right in the downswing if the upper limbs are not moving right. So swing more upright with maximal L wrist flexion early in the backswing to get the club shaft pointing inside of ball position, then torque with the L wrist going full ulnar deviation at the top (like reverse reving at motorbike- his words). Then downswing is just turning the body and using largely passive forces to impact.
Very different feel. Going to take a lot of practise at home and range time to get it happening thoughtlessly.

Drills. Practice the torque move. A lot. And practice placing club on ground to the side but behind right heel with L wrist in full flexion and ulnar deviation, flex legs and sweep club up and out to get the correct feel of the downswing.
