Hit some excellent 4 irons. In fact I prefer that to my hybrid now. Anazing as I couldn’t hit 5 irons up till a month ago. Now I can go confidently to a green 160m out instead of 140.

Great to meet you Toph.

You played well.

Your analysis of your game is spot on.

I don't believe your past handicap is truly reflective of your game.

That’s what I like to believe - like most - but it has proved that it is. I think if I played a bit regularly I should be off about 18 at least. With a solid short game maybe less. It’s just a time thing at the moment. I don’t have much. That’s why a Friday arvo social works for me.

My shot of the day was the 165m (I think) par 3 11th into some wind. Hit 4i and nutted it. just on the fringe to the left and pin high. 2 putted for par. Wow that felt good!

Easy GA of 16 for you.

They'll be calling you a sandbagger at the Nationals. ;)

Was that the par3 you were just off the green, like, by 300mm and had your pitch mark, a crater in the soft fringe about 200mm from your ball?

On what hole did you drain that putt? Was a good 3m from memory? I remember that one clearly since you'd commented earlier about leaving your putter at home and using a borrowed one...

Yes that’s the one.
Good thing that put went in or it was 6 - 10ft past!
I get called all sort of things when I’m on a roll. Till a wheel comes off.

Mostly warranted.

Was good you got back on the Driver. I'll put that down to my awesome caddy skills in supplying the necessary rehydration, and encouragement.

Parkwood today with Madam (thanks for organising) and Anonymous Golfer.
Much better. We played the second nine first and I was pretty much bogey golf all the way. One par one DB one wipe, rest all bogies. Putting was much improved after a little string line work in the garage through the week. After 3 holes my back started to twinge on driver which caused a duff and some missed right, hence the wipe, then I stopped using it for a few holes. Irons and chips n pitches were pretty good for me.
We played some of the back nine and I pretty much continued the bogey golf. One par and a DB I think.
Obviously much room for improvement, but much better than last games dismal effort. Bogey golf is where I feel I should be at the moment so it’s good to actually do it.
Was a beautiful Gold Coast afternoon. We kept going till it was too dark to continue. Really enjoyed the golf, the course, and the company.

Mate I grew up in brissy and still remember heading outside to play at 5.30 coz it was light already at 5.

Couldn't believe my eyes when we moved to Melbourne and it was still light at 8.30!!

Half an hour on Emerald Lakes shaggy practice green before work. Good times. I think there’s signs of improvement but lag putts often too far away and too many 4 footers miss. Will continue. I think putting improvement will secure 18 handicap and Nationals title.

Half an hour putting this morning. Trying to have a shorter backswing as per Mads advice and it felt very “poppy” but was probably better. Tending to push if I’m not careful.
Range this arvo. Worked on pulling the chain and smashed the mid irons out there. Woods and driver not so much. Pitches were pretty nice n accurate. For me. 4 iron was **** until I stopped trying to hit it then went nice.
Beautiful sunny crisp 22 degrees. Why would you live anywhere else?

Watched this https://www.revoluti...GolfShot&vrg=ys

And read this last night. “when putting to allow 50mm or 2 inches and then come back 25mm or 1 inch for each metre. So for a 20foot putt one would take their putter back 9inches or 225mm and folow through the same distance. Ofcourse one needs to adjust for slope or heavier greens”

Tried it out today. Seemed to work quite well. Any thoughts?

Hour at the range. Pitches chips and bunker good. Irons ok but not as good as I hoped. Driver is back I think.
