Another epic brain snap by Jason Day on the 18th at Pebble Beach. Driver off the deck for his second - straight into the surf. Fair enough he was 3 behind, but fair dinkum his course management leaves a lot to be desired at times.

I haven't seen any of this, not him playing the hole or anything so I am basing this solely on what you've said, but how would you have played the hole or suggest he play to give himself a chance at winning the tournament?

He was hitting into a pretty stiff head wind so he thought he’d have to hit a draw to get the distance he was after to have a crack at eagle. It was a 1000/1 shot; which he over cooked. I would have hit a cut and tried make eagle from off the green and then hoped Potter butchers the last. But three behind - I guess he doesn’t need the money so why not go for the miracle shot.

Chevy - Day is to be totally commended for the way he played the last. He knew that the only way he could have won the tournament at the time he was playing his second to the last was for him to eagle the hole and hope Potter who at that stage was three ahead would drop a shot. If he had have layed up you would have been cracking up at him for not having a go.

Jason Day does not have to play for runner-up place and that he was prepared to give it a go was a feather in his cap. The par he made further highlighted what a never give up attitude he has. By making the twenty footer for par after being on the beach and then in the bunker was brilliant.

All props to him for having a go and seriously can't believe you said that.

The PGA Tour is boring as, with the Pebble Beach event and coverage with Jim Schmaltz being the standout.

For a guy that doesn't need Ryder Cup points/money to lay up would have added to the dullness.

Good on JDay for going for it. As an aside, he ripped it and didn't miss it by much.

I haven't watched the final round yet, but his course management often leaves me scratching my head.

The 18th hole in the 3rd Round at last years US PGA Championship was one of his best.

He was thinking, two kids now, tide is out if I miss left I play it as it lies, if I hole out off the ocean floor, bonus if not, at least I went down swinging, and my damaged club will be replaced FOC by TaylorMade anyways.

Imagine the praise we would be singing if he pulled the shot off..... Oh dear Lordy, I can visualise it now.....
