I just hope the Hawks are at the VFL Grand Final and watching how Box Hill have gone about it...

1000% effort.

Young Litherland chase down in the last 5 mins when it could easily have been party time... Talk about intent!

Think its fair to say all the Hawthorn listed players in the VFL today showed they want Whitey's spot next week.

Joffa Simpkin an absolute Monty to come into the GF side? I've been pumping his tires up all year. I really like the way he goes about it. Just finds so much footy and can kick a goal.

I was pumped when we recruited him after watching him run around for Geelong in last years VFL finals.

Vote 1 J Simpkin!

FB... wouldn't say a Monty... I would have thought Savage was a front runner. But then they want a defensive minded player so Simpkin would be a chance indeed.

Yep... I thought Spangher was awesome too... might be too big for Whitey though.

I think Spanger is probably going to be pretty stiff and miss out. Was very good in the qualifying final and then dominant today. Unlucky.

Savage was excellent in the VFL Prelim but not as good today.

Simpkin has a very good record as a 'super sub' this year. Get him in the team!

will Buddy be right for the final too?

Image of that elbow bending the wrong way looked pretty bad, at best I reckon he will be going in sore

He doesn't mark the ball overhead much anyways

Spangher will come in as he can play a variety of roles....back or forward. He's insurance if buddy or roughy gets injured.

Buddy will play. As Dave correctly points out he can’t really mark the pill above his head anyway and you don’t need your elbow to run. Old Man McPharlin will need to be cherry ripe if he’s going to keep up with Bud. Just jab his elbow and he’ll be right to go. Expect him to play up the ground and drag McPharlin, Johnson or Zac the Hack with him.

Can’t see Spanger getting into the side unless a tall is dropped. I don’t see the the Hawks going with the same talls as Friday plus Spanger

Buddy, Roughie, Lake, Gibson, Stratton, Hale & Gunstan will all play unless they’re injured. And Bailey is a 99.99% chance to play as he’s actually got some size to compete with the monster Sandilands.

We’ll need a runner to replace Whitey so unfortunately Spanger misses out. He’s stiff, but someone always misses out.

Should be a cracking grand final.

Form lines:

Fremantle 12.9.81 Def Richmond 12.8.80

Richmond 12.12.84 Def Fremantle 8.9.57

Richmond 16.11.107 Def Hawthorn 9.12.66

Really hard to split them  :D

As I said to Tigerland on Sunday... Tigers schooled us in '08. Tigers schooled us in '11. Tigers schooled us in '12. All years when... yep we made the Grand Final.

The other years when you didn't "teach" us a lesson we didn't make it.

So feel free to keep dishing it out... it works for me!

Bit of an omen

The west Perth falcons won the all premiership in the WAFL

They wear red and blue ......if you mix red and blue what do you get?

Purple ....

But hawks won VFL....an omen

It has to be a draw......
