Hi all, i know amex and other providers have rewards programs targeted specifically at golfers. These programs are available to US card holders and include points redeemable / offers at private golf courses, lessons, pga tour event tickets etc.. Are there any similar programs aimed at the australian market?

Get a debit card and don't go into debt. :-)

Or get a Qantas Amex and put everything possible on your card and pay it off in full each month. There's no annual card fee and 1:1 points so you should be able to earn enough points to cover your flights for a yearly golf trip. http://www.americane...0130507020411:s

so, as in all things today there are links and links to links that can give someone who can play the links some good things. Virgin Money offer credit cards You can link it to your Velocity points account Part of the Velocity stable is Onsport which has a golf club ...which sometimes offers specials and so on. However, I had a flick around the onsport golf clubs and it is offering (for example) the Srixon Z-Star (new) for $84/dozen. I choked! I think D4S suggestion above is pretty good...it is exactly what I do...I have my Amex linked to my QF Frequent Flyer account and use the points for cheap/free tickets or on longer flights, pay for an upgrade.

Or just get a card that doesn't have reward points but offers lower interest, no annual fees, etc. Then you can choose your own golf benefits.

There was at least two attempts to get a golf rewards credit card running and both obviously failed otherwise they would still be around.

BUMP

Looking for feedback on Frequent Flyer programs and what is best programme to be part of nowadays.

We use credit cards for most of our bills, plus my travel to accrue up heaps fo points each year.

Im on Qantas at moment but just got informed that the points earned are dropping again to .5 points for every $1 spend up to $500 per statement then down to .25 for every $1 thereafter.

What program are you using?

Im at ANZ so it will be a big move away to get better frequency program or maybe drop all together?

All a waste of space. I've got more than 600k of Qantas points but my chance of actually finding a useful flight I can use them on is negligible.

Our kids and friends seem to find internal flights 3-6 months in advance but OS flights are hopeless.

Why bother. Better to get cards with no fees.

yeah good points. I have gotten lucky with finding flights to use with decent value. Is if you have that many Qantas orVirgin points in happy to take them as you not going to use!;)

Due to my domestic issues I let 500k Singapore Air points expire. That hurt.

Just had a look at going to Europe in September. Can go cattle no probs but no seats in business at all going to London, Paris or Frankfurt. I'm too old to go cattle.

Googled the options and it seems paying the extra and making a phone call and doing a round the world business class option may be feasible.

Might do a lap of the world May/June next year just to use them up.

Shame your not a relative like Ah Ben.
