Reminds me of a bloke I played with years ago during a charity pro-am.

EVERY tee shot, he'd hit an iron into the ground and give himself a little raised "tee" made of grass, and then pull either a driving iron or 3 wood and proceed to smash it down the guts using his 'raised grass tee' to hold the ball instead of a tee.

He'd do the same on Par 3, but using a more lofted club depending on distance.

Post round, having a few drinks, he confessed, he gets too tense if he uses a tee.

A solution for your current, ah, dilemma?

Thats a lot of grass to hit my driver!

I've seen some blokes do it with alarming consistency. A lot of kids who have played since they were really young do it regularly, because they have grown up doing it multiple times every hole.

Best one I saw was this 9 year old playing off about 18. He hit driver, driver, driver, 9 iron in to the Par5 17th at Southern and made par.

Yes.

Or

You could use a driving iron or fairway wood.

In, the extreme, you could maybe even use a hybrid. 😉

Medal day yesterday.
After the last couple of rounds i wasnt to confident.

Driver seemed to straighten itself out a bit, but irons were big draws on anything longer than an 8i which was a pain in the ass

Bunkers are still a work in progress im afraid.

46/38 for 84. Net 73
7/14 FIR
5 GIR
18/15 For 33 putts. 2 3 putts
3 out 5 sand saves

Stoked with the back 9. Dropping a shot on the last was a bummer, but i will take it

Cap came backin .3 to 9.2

Great effort Rob. Didn't give in and declare a practice round after blowing your cap on the front 9.

I loved it when i played there and that was in the middle of winter with frozen fairways and greens. Can only imagine how good it is now.
