Par round at YM today, playing the Valley layout (10-27) with Harro, Chang and Dallas.

Picked up Harro around 6.15...and he was slurring his words at that point of the day. Turns out his missus had a night out with the girls...so he had a night at home...with the fridge. Friggen hilarious conversation on the drive to the course. At least the bits I could understand were. And he started accordingly...6 wipes on the first 6 holes.

I had a day where I was minimally square all day (off 19) parring 10 (dropped a 12 footer), 12 (NTP to 6 feet), 15 and 17 (made it greenside for in 2 for the first time I can remember), with minuses on 11 and 14 to be plus 2 at the turn.

Par on the par 3 25th was the only plus on the inward 9 (we all parred the hole...which was nice) with wipes on 21 (terrible bounce into the bunker on the approach shot), 22 (we all wiped it...shortest par 3 on the course...which wasn't nice) and sadly on the last (again...all of us wiping it!). -2 on the back for square on the day.

Chang -3, Dallas -6 and Harro -7...quite the recovery once he started to get some blood back into his alcohol system.

The new-to-the-bag M2 3W and 5W have been terrific additions, and I'm starting to hit them pretty consistently.

Seeing I started at 17.3 just 3 comp rounds ago, today's result should get me back to 16.1 which is getting closer to the GA of 15 I need to be off 18 on all 3 layouts at YM. I've got to say, I'm really starting to enjoy the place, and ultimately I'll look back on the decision to go there as a good one.

Stroke MM next week. Good times.

Been a while...probably not a lot of great golf over the last month...

Had 3 rounds since Friday. 32 with one wipe at Eastern on Friday with Benny and Keith. Great layout. Played the newest 9 for the first time and really enjoyed the course.

Net 79 in Stroke at YM yesterday...2 waterballs in the first 4 holes, and raised the bat on the front. Played only one worse than handicap on the back with pars on 19, 21 and 22. One of our guys eagled the par 4 17th with 3H, 3H.

Heidelberg today with Benny, Carson and Dallas. 31 points with 3 wipes, after being only 12 on the outward 9 (started on 10...I really don't like 10 and 11 as starting holes). Two highlights for me were parring the 3rd off the blues, with about 180+ in with the 3W on my approach shot to about 5 feet from the green, and my drive on 9 across the right hand corner that made it all the way down to the bottom of the hill on the par 5...I'd say one of my longest drives ever.

Also picked up Chang's Callaway Apex irons a couple of weeks ago. Really enjoying them.

Yep.

I turned to Benny and asked why they all don't come out like that.

The drive on 9 was better. To the point where I said, also to Benny, I reckon that'll do me...I don't want to play the next shot,

Rich bastards do the little plane that flies straight to the course. That's not me...unfortunately.

Yes. It is.  :D

Hey Goldy

I did the Barnbougle/Lost Farm experience last Sunday Monday by charter plane - it is is absolutely the way to go! Not only save heaps of time and logistics, but there was no parking woes, check-in queues, airport security, oversize luggage etc etc. And we flew at a times convenient to us, not at a sparrow's fart to get cheaper flights!  The scenic aspect was also an experience too.

Played day 1 at Lost Farm and it was very calm and sunny. Finished with 5 birdies, just missed a hole in 1 underneath the clubhouse by millimeters! scored 39 points (off a h'cap of 8), so was very happy with myself. My playing partners (also off 8) finished with 35 points and 32 points and no birdies. The course was in magnificent condition, albeit the Greens were a little slow.

We were staying at Lost Farm lodge (highly recommend it) but the restaurant was booked out so ate at Barnbougle which was pretty ordinary food.  Went back to the Sports bar at Lost farm and probably stayed for one too many!

Day 2 at Barnbougle with a freshening headwind to start. Had a good few holes out, made a mess of the signature hole (4th), then nearly holed out on the par 3 5th. Finished the front nine with 2 birdies (5th & 9th) for 17 points. The first few holes on the back 9 were down wind so it wasn't too bad, but coming back into the wind on the par 3 12th and then 15 thru 18 was a challenge to say the least. And the greens were also much more undulating on the back nine as well.  Scored 11 points for a total of 28. My playing partners finished with 28 and 21 points so a tough day at the office.

We had lunch at Barnbougle before a pleasant journey back to Essendon.Airport.

It was a great experience and we're keen to do it again

cheers Briggsy
