Been a bit quiet in here, but today was a bit of fun in the 4bbb at the Frog, so I'll indulge myself, and likely bore the shitt out of you at the same time.

Played with my regular group...Dash (16) and me (19) together, Gav (7) and Watto (11) paired.

1st...decent drive, crap 5h...somehow found the green...gave the birdie putt a good look...par (me) 4/3

2nd...got a putt for 4/2 but Dash pars 3/3 (Dash)

3rd...got a putt for 6/2, Dash gets there first 6/2 (Dash)

4th...decent drive in the cold, but still 170 out...put 3w to the fringe, missed the par putt when I had to make sure we didn't score only one point 5/2 (me)

5th...in the bunker, Dash with no shot on the green...I get out to 8 feet and drop the putt 3/3 (me)

6th...Dash on for 3, 5/2. Likely wipe for me as I was in the shitty greenside bunker left for 3 and put the bunker shot off the back edge (Dash)

7th...ok drive but short, 3w to about 30m, SW to 6 feet, par (me) 4/3

8th...good drive, ok 3w. then another, bump a 7i about 30m to 8 feet...drop the par putt for 5/3 (me)

9th...on the fringe for 3, end up 3 putting from there...which is our score 6/1 (me)

So 22 on the front, I've had 6 of the 9 holes for 15 points, with pars on 1 5 7 and 8.

10th...Dash with a nice putt for a 4/3, me with a 2 point putt pick up (Dash)

11th...Dash on for 3, me for 4 and with a tap in for 6 until Dash drops a 5/3 (Dash)

12th...160m, put my 3H on the green right side edge of the top tier, putt to the hole on middle tier left an lip out birdie...tap in par 3/3 (me)

13th...end up on the wrong side of the greenside humps, putt a hybrid off the green into the bunker, out, 2 putts 6/1 (me)

14th...decent drive, chunked hybrid, 9i to pin high, 2 putts 5/2 (me)

15th...ordinary drive, reasonable 3w, 4h to fairway, 9i into left greenside bunker. Dash in the right greenside bunker for 3. And that was where he finished the hole. I got out, 2 putts 7/1 (me). Not our best effort

16th...driver to front edge, put the birdie putt about 4 feet past, drop the par putt 3/3 (me)

17th...decent drive, but ball sitting in a depression, butchered a 4h to just short, putt to about 12 feet, 2 putt 5/2 (me)

18th...decent drive, 3h to about 100 out, 8i uphill to the back of the green, 2 putt 5/3 (me)

21 points on the back, 43 all up. I think we ran 3rd on a countback...44 won the day.

Had the last 7 holes on the back for 15 points, including pars on 12 and 16. And a 3 point bogey on 18...farken chopper off 19.

Really enjoyed the day...a bit more freedom in the 4bbb when you know you have someone else who can score if you don't. The up and down from the bunker on 5 for par, the lipout birdie for par on 12, and the dead straight at the pin driver on the long par 3 16th were my highlights.

Carl Lewis OOM tomorrow.

Thanks for not reading.

OOM at Curlewis today with Wozz, Aaron and Leenn.

A lot of good...a couple of holes of very bad.

Started on the 10th, and started par (approach to about 8 feet, just a little high on the birdie putt), par (sand save from the right hand greenside bunker to about 4 feet), thinking, how bloody good is this?

Double on 12, bogey on 13, so still one up on handicap (18). And that's when the trouble started.

Wiped the 14th after missing the point saver from about 4 feet. Followed by another wipe on 15 after spraying right off the tee into the hazard between the 14th and 15th, FFS.

A one pointer on 16 after butchering the approach, and suddenly I'm 4 down to handicap and hoping to avoid the NAGA.

An adventurous bogey on 17, followed by a par on 18 left me on 15 points after 9. Aaron leading the group on 19, Leenn on 17, Wozz on 16. 3 pars for me on the 9, being 10, 11 and 18.

Good par on the 1st with driver, 3h, pw that hit the flag. 2 putt par. Bogey on 2, pars on 3 and 4, bogey on 5, double on 6 after being about 20m short of the green for 3, bogey on 7, best par of the day on 8 (given the pin position) and finished with a bogey on 9 for 21 points on the inward 9, 36 for the day with the 2 wipes on the first 9. 7 pars...10 11 18 1 3 4 and 8. I had 6 pars yesterday, 7 today. This is the first time that this has ever happened in the world of golf, as is my understanding.

Monthly Medal next week at the Frog. Good times.

Last MM of the year at the Frog today. Feeling quite positive after 2 good rounds last weekend. That's usually when the trouble starts.

Ended 92 net 73, and was leading when I put the card in. Now look like running 4th...there are 2 net 72s and a better 73 in front of me now.

Pars on 1, 4 and 16. Doubles on 8, 10, 11, 13 and 18. Bogeys everywhere else.

Missed a few putts that potentially made the difference between getting the win and not...I reckon the ones on 2, 5, 6, 10, 14 and 17 (all for par except 10) could easily have dropped...usually decent pace and the ball just holding on the line when a small movement seemed likely.

The nice thing about today...my score would have been identical regardless of the format. 35 in Stableford (no wipes), -1 in Par.

Anyway...depending on the DSR, I think I'll drop about 0.5 today, losing the extra shot on 18, which is a little embarrassing. Back to playing off 18...which is better....but only marginally less embarrassing.

We finished 2nd in the 4bbb last week, which qualifies us for the finals. They're due to be played next Saturday, but my wife is going in for shoulder surgery on Friday, out the following morning, so I won't be able to play Saturday. Trying to organise the match for Friday afternoon.

And that's all I have to say about that.

That's pretty good Gman.

I shot an 87 net 69 and enough for a B grade win.

I had a 9 on hole 17 and would have meant a 43 in stbfd.

MM winner shot next 54.
