FFS, all THAT and no mention of the NTP markers in use at the course?

Probably wasn't in a club comp.

Update time .......  and a relaxed 18 today, again at Alice Springs.

Same wind conditions, so a lot of bunting into the wind, and pretty much the same score as the other day. (Just broke 80)

With the Macdonnell Ranges running right beside the course, it is always going to be something of a wind tunnel.

The par 5's are good fun to play though, as they are easy 3 shot holes into the wind, and very gettable 2 shot holes down wind.

It was just a shame the wind wasn't in another direction, but the easterly seems to be the prevailing breeze up this way at this time of year.

I'm not sure when or where my next game will be at this stage. We set off southward tomorrow, and then turn right to Uluru (no course there yet), but we've got a few things planned over a couple of days at Uluru to make up for a lack of golf...... :)

Update time, and it was a very pleasant mornings golf today ........ at Royal n Ancient Broken Hill Country Club.

The course is set amongst the usual red rocky background, with lots of river gums bordering the fairways, including a couple in the middle of them. No roo's in sight today, but several Emu's were walking the course with us, which was great, so some nice pics were taken.

Started off with a couple of bogeys, as the greens were furry, bumpy, and took a bit of getting used to. Then it was several pars and a birdie on one of the par 5's .....(never met a par 5 I haven't loved). Made the turn at a few over, nice coffee in the clubhouse.

The back 9 continued on the par train for the most part, the final score another round in the high 70's. The driver was on song which makes life easy, and the greens whilst bumpy, rolled pretty well, and they were large so not many green misses.

No Sue Veneers post round though, as the pro shop was a bit lacking. You'd think they'd have some B.H. logoe'd polo's or at least ball markers, but not to be.

Not to worry, it was another fun day out on a course with The Beloved ....... :D

Played today at Mildura Golf n Country Club ...... and it's a very nice set up indeed.

The front half is more parkland with large river gums lining the lush fairways, whereas the back half has several lakes to either avoid or carry.

It's got large, true rolling greens, and whilst the course is not long, it offers lots of choices off the tee, so 3W and long irons got a workout, (when I wanted a change from hitting my driver).

I was a few over at the halfway stage, and the odd soft bogey kept coming every now and then on the back half. I managed a couple of birdies during the round, but too many bogeys yet again today.

It was another round in the high 70's, so it seems I'm stuck around that mark at the moment.

It was though really enjoyable, and a course I could play every day, as it just gives lots of options off each tee.

Unfortunately, we will be heading southward in a day or two, so a return to Beacy awaits ...... :)

Update time from today's Par round up at Beacy.

-2 on the front half ...... and square on the back half for a -2 finish.

Very blustery & cool conditions, and some indifferent golf.

No putts of note were sunk for the round, but a few nice shots were played, just not enough of them to warrant a better score. Not to worry, it was good fun nevertheless ...... :)

It was a tad cooler, but I played most of the golf in the morning whilst away, so it wasn't what you'd call hot .... mid twenties for the most part ...... but yeah tis cold up at Beacy. :)

Update time, Stableford comp, and I hit the grand total of one shot today that I'd be proud of ..... and that was the first drive of the day ...... long and sweetly timed, it sailed a long way down the middle of the 1st fairway.

The rest however ...... was complete and utter tripe that I served up.

I found new and wonderful ways to stuff each and every hole. I had no feeling with any club in the bag, post the opening tee shot, (nor in my hands for half the round it was that cold) ....... and I reckon my marker was being overly generous, when I had 28 points at round's end.

Some of my tee shots were rubbish, lots of approach shots were rubbish, my chipping and recovery work was ordinary, and when I did actually have a chance on the green ...... I'd go and three putt, cause I had again, no feeling for the short stick.

I seriously don't think I've played that badly for a few good years, (and I've hit some bloody bad shots in that time).

Still ..... it was good fun out there, and hopefully I managed to learn a thing of two .... :D

Better pack it up and sleep in until Spring old man :D

No such luck Micky.

I was back out there today at the crack of dawn, shivering both my nads n toes off, in the monthly medal.

Whoever picked Par format for a monthly medal seriously needs to take a good long look at themselves I reckon.

....... after one hole I was even, and that was the last time I threatened to play anywhere near my handicap.

Five wipes in a row, from the 2nd hole put paid to any semblance of golf, and I made the turn at -5.

Thankfully though by the 7th hole I was regaining the feeling in my extremeties, so all was not lost. The highlight of the round soon followed ...... coffee, and then it was back out for more tripe.

-2 on the rear end of the course for a total of -7. It was pretty much the same tale as the other day ..... no feel whatsoever for any shot.

Hopefully this is just a passing phase, but if not, I might try playing right handed once more .... ;)

Moonah Legends tomorrow for the OOM, and hopefully not as chilly.

It's not a course I like though, but I'll try to reign in the game a touch and just bunt it around ..... that is, before I inevitably get jack of playing like that, and just start belting it.

Still, it should be good fun, no matter what the golf is like ...... :D

Update time, OOM 3, Stableford comp, Moonah Legends ...... and the signs were very ominous early on.

First ...... I missed the turn for Moonah's entrance, as I was mid sip of coffee as I sailed past it. (I should have kept going, and played St. Andrews beach instead (my fav course)

Then ..... after savagely hooking my opening tee shot on the first hole into the wasteland (never to be seen again), whilst still on the tee, I was told by the Course Marshall to "butt out my smoke", as Moonah apparently is a non smoking course .... due to being "a fire risk"  ....... ffs.

Needless to say, that did little to stench the flow of steam already emanating from my ears.

In addition, I'd cleaned all the grips on my clubs last night, and they were still as slippery as hell today, despite trying to roughen em up as I was going around. (Obviously too much soap was applied .... dickhead)

anyway ..... the rest of the round followed .... in a similar negative fashion.

I have no idea what I scored on the front half, nor the back for that matter, but it apparently totalled 25 points, according to Jon, my marker, and chauffeur, for the day. (Many thanks Jon)

The golf itself was really a waste of effort on my part, and I should have just caddied for someone instead.

It was a fun day out though, with more a few laughs, cause we were all pretty much rubbish today.

So that's golf done for another week, such a shame to finish on yet another crappy note, but not to worry .... life is good .... :D

I don't think that they would have come up with any reason that I would agree to.

Might be an old gentlemen's rule not to smoke on the course??
