Actually don't knock the red tees, that was a fun day, and not bloody easy either, given that it threw any preconceived club selection to the shizen for the whole day.
One Par 5 turned into a Par 4,(The 3rd).
The usual par 3's were from distances that no one had ever hit from before, and the dogleg par 4's now had to be hit with completely different clubs (shorter off the tee).
It was just a one off comp event up at Beacy, that I reckon should be done at least a couple of times a year, just to mix it up further, cause it bit more than a few guys on the arse, and deflated a few egos along the way too ....... which is always a good thing.
Anything that breaks up the usual boring diet of Stableford and Par events has got to be good in my book. ....
Gaz, Gardners have the option of playing of whatever you like on tbe day except the ladies of course.
We are going to play the golds soon, just to mix it up. As you said iyt will put you in some very different positions.
Im actually looking forward to it
