Time for an update, post the Bali trip, now that things are starting to settle down.
We got back into freezing cold Melbourne in the wee hours of Sunday morning, in not the most suitable attire let me say. Shorts and a t shirt were not the best thing to be walking out of the airport in, close to midnight on Saturday.
Still, it could have been worse.
After a tour of Melbourne courtesy of Citylink roadworks we finally got home and after a quick shuffle of clubs into another golf bag, and a few minutes of shut eye, it was off to Beacy bright and early Sunday morning.
After 9 holes I was on 13 points and not playing too well. The driver was back on track, but the rest of the game was shite. The putter felt like I'd only just met it, the short game was awol, and I was spraying the approach irons all over the place. The back half wasn't much better and I finished up with a grand total of 28 points, but had fun doing it.
Post game and it was a touch more unpacking, and then a trip to Golf Clearance Outlet to spend some left over cash.
I got a brand new rangefinder (my old one, a Leupold, had been knocked so the targeting was slightly off . when you pinged the flag you had to aim it a foot to the left for ti to have any hope of reading it), and with the money I saved on buying a Precision Pro, as opposed to a Sureshot (about $100) I also got myself a set of new grips for the MP32's . Golf Prides CP2 Pro midsize.
Into the garage and cue the music, as Top Gear would say. As I'd long run out of grip solvent, I was using WD40 as the lubricant of choice, and that too ran out, so it was over to the much cheaper option of Turps, which worked a treat.
So, I'm already for the weekend now, with my newly gripped 32's all ready to rock. Hopefully my swing will return at some stage soon, but it should be good fun.
I've got another job to do before then though ... download a load of golf photo's from the Bali trip off my phone, and then update the "Beacy Boys Do Bali" thread with the details. (T'was a fun couple of rounds with Bradley) ......
