Shame there seems to be a dearth of knowledge workers around.

Still ....... its nice to have several different voices on the subject of practice, as there is no one method that works.

Even the pro's who all seem to do pretty much the same thing pre round, can end up with scores 15 shots difference after their rounds. Some can shoot 65 after warming up, yet on other days it can blow out to 80.

If it's frustrating for us, the inconsistencies, imagine how bad it must be for them ..... :(

Update time from the weekend's golfing to date.

Saturday Stableford, and it was a pretty relaxed affair. 17 points at the turn, and that was about it for the day.

I started the back half with a couple of 1 pointers, had a wipe along with way, and the crap just kept rolling.

I declared it a practice round by around the 14th or 15th and cruised back to the clubhouse with a carefree 10 points ...... so 27 points or um, lets see .... 14 over par.

Highlight of the day though, was once again outdriving Wasabiepea with Chip In Kings driver on 18 .... t'was a nice gently curling draw to land mid fairway and about 90m short of the flag.

So, a change of clubs for Sunday's Stroke round was definitely called for, as I was bored with the iron set for one thing. (It had been 2 weeks or so since I'd changed them out so it was well and truly time)

So it was the 2 Iron going into the bag, MP 32 irons into the bag, 2 wedges out of the bag, and replaced by one wedge (54 Deg).

I woke up this morning though with what felt like a dead set corkie in one hip and all down the side of my thigh, and it just would not loosen up on the range pre round.

I started off with a solid par on the 1st, ..... landed my tee shot about 4 foot from the pin on the 2nd for a handy birdie.

The hip and leg though was bloody killing me every time I had to reach down for my ball, or to squat to check the line of a putt.

I'd done a bit of work at the manor the afternoon before, building an internal wall, and also climbing up and down in the ceiling a few times, so god knows what I've gone and done to myself now, but I digress .....

Got a steady par on the 3rd, then had a shocker of a hole on 4, when my 2nd shot ended up flying into the forest, and right down into a tree stump hole.

For the first time ever, I had to admit defeat and take an "unplayable" ...... and long story short, I finally got the ball in the hole for a double bogey 7.

On the 5th I blew my drive high, wide, and not very handsome, deep into the scrub leftward ..... that was another hole that ended in bogey.

Parred both 6 and 7, another bogey on 8, and a par on 9, for a 3 over 39.

T'was a tad scrambly on a couple of those holes, but I was still having fun, a lot of laughs with the boys, and my swing wasn't feeling too bad, all things considered.

I just couldn't bend down without pain.

Onto the back half though .....

A steady par on 10, a nice 4m birdie on the 1tth, and then a decent drive on the long uphill 12th.

I hooked my 6 iron though and had another couple of crappy shots and finally got it  into the hole for a double bogey 6. (Wasted another good chance)

Still having fun though which is the main thing .. I parred 13, birdied 14, parred 15, 16, and 17, and then sunk a nice cross green 15 footer for birdie on the last.

So a 1 under 34 on the back half for a grand total of ..... 73 off the stick,(2 over).

The tale of the tape ...

Birdies - 4

Pars - 10

Bogeys - 2

Double Bogeys - 2 (Holes 4 and 12)

That it turned out, was just enough to win the comp on a count back (The other guy also off 5 parred the back half) ....... although Chip In King earned more for the day with a very handy pro pin win. (Nice one buddy!!)

So all in all, it was a fun weekend's golfing .....  a bit of pain to deal with, but the two best things, getting to play a Stroke round, and having a load of laughs with the boys on both days......

A day off golf tomorrow though and then I'm down to play Tuesday comp, so hopefully the hip and leg will be back to normal by then ... but if not, who cares .... it's golf time !!! :D

SC recommends no range warmup but to have several practice swings left handed. Evidently helps the muscles swinging the other way.
He believes a bad shot or two on the range gets into your brain.
With your bisexual skills maybe the ideal warmup is to borrow a RH club and hit some balls down the range. Zero consequences if they're all over the place.

Funny. I warm up before every round and SC is fine with my pre-game routine. Horses for courses I guess
