Stab at Yallourn with the Vets.
Our start was delayed by a prang on the highway and the cops diverted all the traffic, except the semis, onto a minor road running beside the railway. It became a mile long carpark as we crawled along at walking pace for 3/4 hr and which would have been 5 mins if there was no delay. In the meantime, the semis were allowed through on the highway.

Onto golf. High slope gave me two extra shots over Langy. Started on the 10th. Three 1-point holes pulled me down to 15 points, only one 1-putt.

Second nine was better with three 3-pointers and only one 1-point, 3 more 1-putts, no 3-putts for the day. 20 points plus the other 15 brought me a 35 point total and 2nd place in B grade.

Warra tomorrow, weather permitting.

Stab at Warra, today.

Started rather poorly and continued that way. On the front nine, I had six 1-point holes, two 2-pointers and finally got a par on the 9th for 3 points. Mixed in with many crappy shots was a bounce off the concrete path on the 5th, never to be seen again, but still got a point with the replay, and a 3-putt on 8, again for 1 point. But at least there were no wipes. 13 points out.

Back nine was a bit better with 2 points on most holes, but a wipe on 13 (index 1) was countered by 3-point pars on 16 & 17 for an 18 point total.

Only the one 3-putt, but nine 1-putts should have produced a much better total. That just proves how bad the rest was.

31 point total could have been much worse.

Played yesterday at Cape Schanck GC in a varied version of 2 Ball Stableford.   Each team of two had to swap balls on the tee and we'd hit their drive.   The players would then walk to his ball and play it out for the rest of the hole.   Best stableford score for the two goes on the card.

10 am off the 10th tee.   It was a nice sunny start but the weather was going to get worse later in the day and the wind was unbelievably strong.....at least 3 maybe 4 clubs into it.

10th - A fairly short par 4 into the gale.....managed to get on in three and putted the first to about a foot from the hole.....before I got to it the wind blew it back to me........putted same again and it blew back to me.....putted again and then chased the ball....allah lefty Phil  and dropped the putt.

15 points on back 9 with one wipe.

21 points on the front 9.

Missed out on a ball dtl by a count back and surprisingly 42 points won the day.    I thought we did pretty well given the conditions but not good enough.

Midweek challenge final today 46/46 nett 73. Course rating was 118 due to temp greens and tees. Tried out my newTM 60* wedge and was a mixed bag of results. Tried a bit of a swing change ever so slightly successful. Water hazards cost me a few shots on some holes, 3 x 3 jabs, sonyeah thtas about it.

Best score in stroke round for a while, but I don’t count it as a proper course as holes 1-8 played as per normal, hole 9 par 5 split into two par 4’s, 10,11,12 play as 11,12,13, 14 is temp hole on driving range, 13-14 played as 15,16, then 17-18 as normal.

Rolled in an 18 metre putt on ‘15th green’ for par, that was nice, and a solid par to finish on 18th.

Worst hole was when the a grader in the group ya led his drive into the trees on 9a, and all he did was grizzle about the hole be crap, blah,blah,blah.... let that get to me a bit, but I have to learn to deal with stuff like that.

Thanks for reading

Another stab at Warra today.

The wind was considerably stronger than what I'm used to and that caused some problems, both in the air and on greens.

Four wipes, only three pars, only three 1-putts, two 3-putts.

14 & 15 = 29 points

The 17th hole is a long, uphill par 4 on which I'm usually still a wedge or more out after 2. With a strong tail wind I was hopeful of a GIR. But I duffed the tee shot straight into a pine about 50m from the tee. Fortunately the ball went through and made it onto the 16th green another 50m away. A low mini driver under trees went well up the fairway. A 5H over the crest toward the green finished 1m from the hole. One putt, in for par. A strong contrast to the rest of my round.

Good round mate

thanks bud, so here goes

Holes 9-16 have a combined par of 32, on the temp course I had 41, so probably played my normal avaerage to that.

But now Yu have made me realize that I signed an incorrect scorecard, put down a 5 instead of 9 on the temp 12th hole.....Fcuk it!!!!! What do I do now??? I think o must let the match committee know, see if they can alter the card......I feel terrible now , fcuk.... realistically I had 46 over those 8!holes....I am a cheat
