100 balls at the range last night and set up a bit closer to the ball and standing a bit more upright and that definitely was helping with the ball flight being straighter and accuracy. I noticed that my club was getting toe up at address so fixing that my correcting my setup position seemed to help.

Social but competition between ourselves on Sunday - and Poo on the line - at Sanctuary Cove Palms which is always a challenge so we will see

Did some more sand practice and committing to hitting down into the sand rather than scraping it - or a more shallow slice - was getting it up and out better

Chipping was so so with lob wedge but gap wedge was pretty good

So you didn't practice with a driver lesson?

Played with Piggy Panda and Slick at Sanctuary Cove Palms today. Course was soggy - carts on paths makes some very long walks there. Played ok - quite well for a spell on the front - but couldn’t convert enough up and downs and hit way too many fat wedges into greens.

The greens were fast and firm in places, receptive in others which made it interesting. I felt I putted ok-ish but the greens were tricky and I didn’t convert enough Texas wedges and no birdies.

6 pars 8 bogies 2 doubles 2 pick ups
Gave myself 44 each side (8 and 10 over respectively) off 13 - 88 net 5 over 75 and 32 points

6/13 Fairways - drove it ok although 1 in the water. Dropped a shot there and off the 1st pushed a 5i behind trees. 2 dropped shots off the tee.

5 GIR - disappointing result to be honest as I lost a lot of shots with short irons and wedges:
2 PW push wet
10 9i pull plugged right up under the lip and took 2 chops just to get it back to the bottom of the bunker
12 fat AW from the fairway bunker
14 fat AW from the middle of the fairway
18 SW choked down 9 o’clock swing still went 105 into the wind leaving and impossible Texas back down the slope to the pin

4/14 up and downs - dropped 8 shots here. Had 8 Texas wedges and only got 3 down. Blew one from the sand over the green and into the water - drives me crazy - and another just out, and another to 3 feet.

32 putts (plus 8 Texas wedges) - 1 3 putt cost me a shot but overall putted pretty well. Had quite a few that were very close but nothing of any great length dropped.

Step in the right direction but still too many errors.

Do you think playing skins helped your game at all?

Focussing on trying to win each hole and not worried so much about your score.

I think I always play more against myself and the course so I'm not sure skins changed much

Plus Higgins was still stableford based

Skins was a fun change though - frustrating when someone drops a bomb to halve you!
