Not from what I have been reading. Am actually tempted to get one myself and drop the 2 54(chipping) + 56 wedges (Sand) I have in my bag for it.

Who knows - it could be the go down the track!

Hey Weeti,

What's the core issue with ya chipping? Is it contact, so not getting it clean, or more control - distance or accuracy?

What golf balls do you use for practice? Same as you game?

Blades mate is the main issue

Then distance control

I use old game balls as like you I think you need to practice with the same spin and flight characteristics as you play

So, what ball are you using? Is it soft?

I blade my chips - hit them with the leading edge - it's very ugly!

I use a TM TP mostly - pretty soft and spinney.

Ah.

Or, is that arghhhh ... as you "knife" it and it goes flying across the green at 100 mph.

Oh, I KNOW that feeling.

Have you tried a 'softer ball' to get better feeling?

What Weeti has failed to tell you is that he plays a different course each game. So turf surfaces are varied. Ball reaction will be different and so he has to adjust his swing for each course.

He may also have to retrain his approach to the game.... is it worth chipping off a tight lie or just putt it onto green???should he use a putting stroke style more than an actual swing??

No I haven't tried different balls for feel - hitting it in the air is priority 1

That's what I'm doing Ben - putter first, 5 or 8 iron second, wedge if I have to. Putting swing for all of them.
