Someone might need to give him a lift.

He's only 13.

Plus.

His parents, dad, might be a bit wary if some random dude from the interwebs.

Might need to try and meet his parents, etc. first...

I'm sure someone from on here can catch up with the young fella at Bonnie Doon, his home club.

Ok...didn't see an age mentioned...13 and in here?? That's poor parenting right there!

Mind you, if his dad also plays then that's an extra 2 players!  ;)

Yeah, he didn't put that in his profile in this thread, but, made the comment in his first post in this thread:

He talks about a mate of his dad's who is a good player too, so, maybe, there's a whole group you can round up from off the Boonie Doon track?

Quick Google search on your name, which is rather unique, shows up a young golf prodigy?

Interesting YouTube videos... You still playing piano?

Mate, be cyber safe and watch where you use your real name online. You can change your username in your profile on here.

Welcome to the forum. Be good to see you post up your games on here like you use to do on your blog...

Is a career as a touring golf pro still your goal?

When I read his first post this morning and noticed his username, it looked too much like an actual name. I figured he might have some golfing records and yep, found a few among other parts of his life.

Hi all,

Having just joined up I thought I’d fill out my profile.

I played loads of golf when I was younger – in fact, despite the talk of the weather in Scotland being terrible 365 days of the year and perhaps through rose tinted glasses, I remember being dropped off by my dad on his way to work and playing 36-54 holes (sometimes more) of golf every day before being picked up at dusk (11pm-ish) in the summer. I’d certainly love to have those long days here!

As stated in my intro post I’m just starting to get into golf again having played only a few rounds socially over the last 13 years. I’m looking to join a club but haven’t landed on where yet. Bio as follows:

Name: Graeme

Height: 180cm

Weight: 72

Location: Sydney

Years Playing: 33

Righty or Lefty?: Right

Home Course: None

What’s in the Bag?: Titleist 8.5 975D; Titleist 14.5 975F; a garbage recovery club I won; 3-PW Titleist 990s; a Mizuno TP gap wedge I stole off my brother; Ben Hogan Special SI I have had since I was 13 and a TaylorMade TPI-22 putter

Highest / lowest / current handicaps: 36 / 3.4 / None

Handicap Goal for 2018: Get better clubs, join a club and get back to former glories (or somewhere near)

Strengths: Finding fairways off the tee and short game

Weaknesses: Distance and no longer have the timing to hit my irons (new clubs in train to sort this out)

Your Typical Pre-Round Routine: Hit a few full shots (range or nets) then work on the short game

Your Golf Attire (usually): Here: Shorts and polo; Back home: entire wardrobe at the same time

Your Usual Ballflight: Low to keep under the wind (was a necessity in my former life but working on changing this)

Have You Played Competitively?: Yes a long time ago though

Pick The Ball Cleanly, or Divot?: Divot, but unfortunately more fat now than skilled

Blades or Cavity Backs?: Grew up on blades, Use Muscle, will move to Cavity to get my game back

Links or Tree Lined?: Love al golf but Links is special

Range Rat or Gain Experience By Playing?: Playing but hit the range for large changes

What Time of Day Do You Prefer Playing?: First thing

Do You Get First Tee Jitters?: Yes when it means something

Your Overused Golf Sayings: For f*%$s sake Graeme!

Quiet Player or Loud?: Quiet, but like a chat

Walk or Golf Cart?: Walk

Favourite Golf Quotes: “One good thing about rain in Scotland. Most of it ends up as scotch.” - Peter Alliss during a rain delay at the Open

Best score for 9 holes: Lowest score pair of 33 at Huntly Golf Course, however best 9 holes on a recognizable course is 34 (-2) back 9 medal tees at Carnoustie

Best score for 18 holes: Lowest score 66 (-1) at Huntly Golf Course. Best score to par was a 67 (-5) at Torrance House Golf Course with an eagle - birdie finish :)

Best golfing memory: Playing Pebble Beach – especially playing the cliff parts (6 through 10) in -2.

Cheers,

Halfer5
