I had a look at the Bennington – thanks but no thanks. The price will eventually be too much anyway.

thanks for your post

If you pay around $200 to $350 to wheel or carry around someones brand name on the side of the synthetic bag, then you can afford to pay the extra $50 for a life-long investment. That was your original question, leather bags, how much are they and where can I get one ? Jon...

Had a Mills bag for about 18 yrs until as Publish rightly nominates - the Zips gave out, but the bag, would have kept going. Allan had gone to the fairways and greens of heaven at that point and I was not aware his son was carrying on the business, otherwise probably would have just put new zips in, cause the bag was still 100%. I don't know that they are of the same quality as the old man used to make, or what price tag they have on them at present, but here is the contact details if you are interested in making the calls. "My custom golf bag global" has a nice black top grain leather staff bag for 389.  How do they stack up against the bennington.

I shelled out big bucks for a Bennington in Sep 14. Their design is better than any other bag I've seen. However, the quality is poor.

I've replaced one zip that I'd use max 4 times per round.
Nearly all the little vents allowing water to run out have dropped out.
The catch on the shoulder strap is stuffed.
The lining is coming out of the putter tube and I've hardly ever had a big grip.
Other linings are also starting to deteriorate.
When it gets wet any light coloured articles eg hats get stained.

3 years at about $150 per year is poor value for mine.

Still a great design

Are we going to be treated to the methodical research of a new bag soon Rob?

Nah. But I'm not going to spend any money on it. If any of the important zips go I'll start to look. Probably an Ogio waterproof or any other waterproof bags out there

I have the QO-9 Bennington. Quality is excellent but the top organiser, while looks practical, the clubs still manage to tangle up. I would like to go back to a staff and looking at the leather bag at 389. I think golfguy has had dealings with both hence the question...from a ten year old thread I might add :))

I recently got a waterproof bennington with the organiser thing at the top. Seems to go alright but I wouldn't pay 500 odd for it.
