In 2004 we released a number of twin cover multilayer designs as we were going to use
the 3 piece story to jump out of the box in a technical way the issue we ran into was the
cover blends were too firm especially when combined with our mantle material.

In 2007 we had a chance to update with a thinner cover this was the X-Pert2 as X-Pert1
was used by Fantom in Korea and Japan as their premium model and it seemed to be a
good model name. In being higher performance etc we moved from being a Premium Game
Improvement brand only to trying to move models towards better amateurs and as such I
changed the Ez-2-See larger markings to a cleaner more traditional style.

The cover/mantle approach was still not flexible enough,,,,, even the 2010 / 2015 versions
of the X3 just were not quite right for sound and feel,,, but I did move back to the Ez-2-See
markings style as they were popular in a small way in the US.

Now that we are back in proshops in larger numbers with packaged product I need something
more traditional again ,,, at least to start with,,,,,

PT - Vision - ball print ideas 2018.JPG

With the ProSoft I will have two versions going into market, one for the corporate logo side
that needs to be clean looking to help with logo positioning,,,, something like this ?

Cheers,
Boz

A question for all.... has Boz used the same font for both sets of markings

A question if i may please Boz

Do golf balls actually wear out?

Apart from the cover?
Just a carry over from another thread in here asking about how often golf balls are changed.

Will a golf ball play the same after 3,5,7 rounds etc, provided the cover is still good?

Cheers

It depends,,,,

(1) Heat exposure can hurt new balls let alone used ones,,, careful how long they are in the boot or if your bag is

on a cart have the ball pocket out of the sun,,,,,

(2) Cast Urethane covered balls if in water will absorb water / slow down / stiffen up the flex of the cover / mantle

(3) Cast Urethane balls are painted / some go off colour quickly,,,their slick coat / lacquer finish also tends to

wear off quickly

Usage

(1) Low compression 2 piece balls will slow down the quickest especially the really soft balls, they just lose ball speed

as the core ages especially if you can hit it firm,,,,,otherwise it is hard to see/feel the diff really.

(2) Most other  multilayer do last a for a number of rounds if they are twin cover ,,,, twin core single cover 3 pieces

tend to play and be more like a 2 piece.

Machine testing will show some slow down during the 2nd and 3 rounds but then it also depends on air pressure / temp

so the one thing to truly understand is its not like the wound ball days where the balls did go out of shape.,

Played Red yesterday for first 18holes in three months.

Ball felt good off the driver and irons and had no problem stopping them on the greens.

Took me a few holes to warm up so lost a few into the water on front nine. (still think biggest flaw is they dont float! :)

Ball feels good off the putter face- as well when chipping. My short game not on and a bit of decel happening- so not getting the ball roll out like Im used to. But that is my mechanics not ball.

I played a Titleist Prov as second ball. It felt slightly firmer off driver and clubs but distance or control were not any better.

Hi Seve, The factories are all on National Holidays so soon I hope but weeks away for sure.

Thanks Mike,,,,even the ChromeSoft has moved to a heavier feel this year away from its

"changing the ball" lower compression,,,,,,

Here's the big deal for Vision at present,,,, over the past 14 years we have had ProShop

support but it has gone up and down ,,,,, it was always let down by the balls not selling

through quick enough and not feeling as planned.

We are currently getting many more proshops,,, albeit only in NSW but it is solid sales of

ProSoft-808 ( 2017 version ) and my long term original idea of the non package Premium

colours and now Goker's in a clear counter display approach plus this week the first order

for the ProTour V's.

Here's the thing to understand all the direct to consumer brands will struggle to trully

compete in the ball industry as they wont really sell enough balls to keep the factories

happy except maybe Snell in the US and when you look at it properly Vice Golf / Snell

Golf / Forte / Jet Golf / The Cut / Seed Golf ,,,,, and the many others who mainly buy balls

from Foremost Taiwan and Nassau Korea will never get PGA-ProShop support,,,,,

Where as our approach over the many years has been two fold to stay alive and to keep

doing the R&D to learn more about how to make the right products for the time without

just trying to be like one of the other OEM's or copying someone else's work whilst dealing

with shops and directly with players without undermining the proshop business model

This is where the Vision ISG Test Pilot team has been a very helpful and appreciated

community based R&D insight into what you all think about so many of the issues that

are so important to me as a designer. What I have truly appreciated as things have

gotten smaller here is the friendships that I have made and the core group that not only

support Vision but care enough about how I'm going when they know its very difficult

to do all this as a one man band with only family especially my parents and friends support.

Thank you for that and Best Regards,

Boz Jr.

Boz i played the Bridgestone Tour B X for 7 holes today. Until i lost it.

Bit of a bummer really.

Its definitly the spinniest greenside ball I've ever played. But i did not like the feel of it on full shots at all.

Any insight Into this ball?

Thanks Rob and Peg,,,,,

B330X or 2018 Tour BX ,,,,, The spin is more inline with other balls with soft wedge/ pitch etc as it isn't a cast U ball design

,,,, core compression close to 85 ,,, smart 3 Piece ,, chasing some added distance that they thought the previous ball had lost.

What they are doing I am looking at,,,, as the  X Red could take on these balls quite easily and with more spin and some

added length,,, well it could be interesting.
