Nice irons,

How do you find the ball, I used a yellow srixon zstarxv on the weekend as our greens were renovated(didnt want to ruin a pro v),

It was exceptional

Irons are insane

I'm enjoying the Bridgestone ball

Was previously playing the Z-Star

I found a near new B330 RXS on course a few weeks ago and gave it a whirl for a few holes.

Loved it and then went and bought a doz.

They're a wee bit cheaper than the Z Star at GCO too.

I think they play pretty similar, but to me, the Bridgey feel a little softer off the face and it might be a little longer.

The Z Star may stop a tad quicker on approach shots though.

I found the B330s wear out more quickly than the Z star, maybe the RXS is better. For me the Z star was the best wearing premium ball out of them all, but Im still a sucker for a ProV so I use them.

I'll keep an eye on that.

I've had two or three rounds with the RXS now and haven't noticed a huge difference in wear over the Z Star.

TBH, I only ever get a big wear marks from hitting trees, or landing on hard pan lies off the fairway.

I really don't think my wedges cut my ball up a great deal.

Lucky man, most of the balls I use are noticeably worn after 9 or 12 holes.

Not that I change it just because of a couple of scratches, but I rarely get more than a round out of them.

Despite not cutting the bejeezus out of my balls, I wouldn't dream of teeing off the first in a new comp round with an old one.

Yep play all 4 RX, RXS, 330 and 330S depending on the day etc.

I have found the 330s the best all round ball except for being, as Itchy mentioned, a little too easy too cut up with wedges. Also found I can spin the t!ts off it with knock down wedges or full PW in.

The RX and RXS are great mid level balls and love them (Played the RX at Moonah Open). They respond well and are easy to hit and not too soft. RXS spins but not as much as the 330s on wedges.

The 330 is interesting. Played it for the first time on the weekend and hit 2 of the longest shots I have ever had.. (deliberate double full stops :)) Will be giving it a few more rounds too see how it goes.

The spin i was getting with the zstarxv was insane,

it was noticeable though not as consistent(spin and roll wise) when hitting chip shots,

It is part of the ritual too - taking the new ball out of the packet and readying it for the game to come.

True that.

I look forward to that point in every weekend when I grab a new ball, the ball marker and a red texta out of my bag.

Seeing alot more Yellow balls out on courses than ever before. I think its a good move that manufacturers are starting to realise there is a market for high end Hi-Viz balls.

The best I've found was the Callaway Chrome-soft Yellow. Which is funny since I usually loath balls from that brand, and the white version was only so-so. I'm now very tempted to try the offering from Srixon. Out of the Zstar and the Zstar XV, whats the main difference between the 2?

Whether you think you can, or think you cannot, either way you're probably right...

Volvik Crystal Orange. Great ball that can only be drowned on most courses. Down the Peninsula it takes a huge hosel rocket to lose one. Lasts at least 54 holes unless drowned. Very similar in compression and feel to the 2017 ChromeSoft.

On the recent GolfBox $30 off deal it worked out to $35 per doz compared to HoG $50.
