Too expensive to explore new courses...suggestions?

Hey there,

So I got a membership at the lakes earlier in the season and love it. But it does get a little old playing the same course all the time. however, it is just too expensive to pay regular price at different courses two times a week. Any suggestion?

cheers

Can get that discount book, whatever it’s called, helps a bit I’d say.

Other than that, make more money or play cheaper courses!

Also keep an eye out here and elsewhere for special offers, they do come up.

iseekgolf.com tee time offers

We are signing up more courses as we speak with several to go live shortly. Not always the cheapest but a great way to compare and see what is available.

Yeah, some book you can buy at golf shops with tee time offers, I know GCO had them, have mates that have got them and we’ve used 2 for 1 offers.

ok,

thanks,

One of my mates told me about a deal he found on golf links? like a scoupon? If its discounted as much as his was there is no way the course can be anything close to playable…

Or even Golf Course Guide 2013 …...for around the same price.

It has discounts for a whole heap of courses, and is good for the calendar year (annual editions)

Its available at all good golf stores …..... and even some crappy ones.

Also lists the best Play and Stay locations etc, and is good value.

Its also available at some golf courses.

When we first bought it way back in about 2009, we bought it at a course down on the Mornington Peninsula, after the guy in the pro shop suggested we buy it.

So we bought it, handed it back to him, and he stamped the first discount voucher there and then.

From memory, we got The Beloved’s round for free, which was about $60 worth at the time ….... so it paid for itself before we were even out of the pro shop.

Gpj is right the golf course guide is a great thing to have every year if you want to play other courses think its about 35 bucks but Gpj saved 65 on the day so you know it makes sense .

crazy golf deals has sold 219 of the deals. Seems pretty good amount of buyers so it must be ok. I will probably end up getting a book though

Not to sound like an arsehole Harrison, but you could afford the joining fee at The Lakes but not full green fees at lesser courses? I played The Lakes for the first time two weeks ago and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! I actually inquired about membership when the books were opened mid-last year, but can’t afford the joining fee:(. The annual dues are doable for a course that awesome, but the $34K joining fee has me stumped:(.
Camden Lakeside is a nice (not Lakes nice, but quite nice nonetheless) course and the crazy golf deal is pretty sweet.
Did you have any problems joining The Lakes with nominations etc? I’d love to play there week in week out…

I started the process a few years ago, been saving up, knew one bloke there he referred me. not a bad process very expensive, but i still enjoy playing other courses..the crazy golf deals seems like the way to go to play other courses for cheap. Split it with a mate.. great deal…probably will end up doing them more often

Sounds like the way to go mate. I voluteered at The Open at The Lakes last month and love the place. It’s better than Royal Sydney I believe, will have to try get on at NSW and The Australian before I decide which of the four I like most… . Hope you enjoy Lakeside – I’m a member at Liverpool, but play Camden Lakeside every now and then… . You’ve played Liverpool, I take it?

Liverpool? Or The Lakes? Livo is good value… . I’ll join The Lakes when I make my millions:).
