Will be interesting to hear how the different lofts work for you. I read recently a topic with Bubba and another Pro (forget who) and there driver setup and degree at impact due to angle of attack. Bubba had 8.5(from memory) and other 11.5(which I thought strange for a pro)
Angle of attack gave the degree of loft at impact for pro 8 degree and Bubba 11. Apparently if other guy had a ascending angle of attack he’d out drive bubba by 25 yards.

Yeah the face angle is only relevant to the swing, ascending or descending or anywhere in between plus the effect of the shaft.

Made for shafts usually are softer and have the bend point low to help get the ball up in the air. The shaft/s in my old driver were much stiffer and mid to high bend point so they had a lower trajectory.

Ben is going to try and re-tip them for me so I can use them in my new driver :)

Saturdays Game, ABC Grade Stableford

I struggled throughout the game, had a few birdie chances go begging but my biggest issue is my woods at the moment, maybe I’m trying to hard or something because I was smashing them when I first got them now I’m rarely in the short stuff with them.

Scored 30 points.

Today’s practice, I had 72 balls hitting GW to 75 metres. I was striking the ball really well and just about every ball flew towards the target.. 29 balls or 40% were within 5m of the target, 63 balls or almost 90% were within 10m of the target… phew that’s awesome.

Tomorrow I move on to PW…

How’d the bday trip go? New toys?

Na mate no new toys… I hit so many clubs wow….

But nothing jumped out at me, I did however notice that the Mizuno MP64 are on special at my club Pro’s….. Might have to sus him out.

Yesterdays Practice: PW to 100m marker.

I found that while I can hit the 100m mark I do have to play a full 100% swing on the ball. Maybe it’s because I have been practising these playing to distance targets but it made me feel a little uncomfortable and slightly less controlled.

I got 42 balls (or 60%) with in 10m of the target, not bad but below the required 70% before I move up a club.

I didn’t get a chance to play to the target this afternoon but I did move the target back 5m to 95m so I don’t need to put so much effort into each swing.

Hopefully I can hit a few tomorrow arvo.

Played Stableford today.

Although I only hit 2 fairways today I’m actually quite happy with my game….

I have been struggling with a fade becoming a slice again and my last fixes did not seem to work. Before Tee off today I warmed up using the split grip to enhance the feel of release and suddenly thought about my grip and that I could simply make it stronger in the left hand (I make my right hand strong when using the driver).

Well suddenly I was playing a slight draw with all my clubs but I was aiming for a fade – slice. All good playing in the AM so will see how things pan out tomorrow.

Scored 32 points with 3 wipes and 4×1 pointers :) inc 4 penalties on 1 hole haha.

Good scoring with those wipes and one pointers. Hope it all gels for you tomorrow :)

Had a shocker on Saturday, scored 9 points for the front 9 holes, came back with 17 for the back 9 hole where I started to hit a few fairways.

Going for a practice 18 holes in the morning and playing in Wednesdays comp as I have this week off.

Handicap out to 14.5 playing off 15 ouch….

A week ago a gent asked at work for one of our bakery lines he can’t get where he comes from. I politely asked where he was from and it was just outside Bundaberg at Coral Coast. I said I hope to be that way at the end of the year playing their course.
Then yesterday, out of boredom, I eBay searched golf pants to see if anyone was making a cheap ‘loudmouth’ style.

They (Mr & Mrs) are both members at Maryborough and they are also members here at Iseek.

I have only met him a couple of times he was also playing a Vision Ball at that stage.

Today’s round Vs Par…

Really enjoyed today’s round of golf, after a bit of Youtubeing to find out what I was doing wrong with my driver set up I’m happy to say I was hitting most fairways today and making really good contact with the ball.

I went Square Square to finish all square for the 18.

I had 6 plus holes, 6 minus holes and 6 squared holes.

I missed a few key putts, just lipping out but I can’t complain.

It seems to take a day or 2 to update the Golflink from Wednesdays round so I’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Hey Weety. I may be reshuffling my dates to go to Maryborough which means it wouldn’t clash with the isg nationals. I noticed Coolumn is halfway between you and Node. Maybe we could organise a ‘meet you halfway’ round together?
I may be able to smuggle Node in for the trip?
I haven’t asked Node yet ir organised date change but figured it maybe a idea?
I noticed there’s a few tracks in that area without dinosaurs on them that may let us in a Sunday comp? Just a idea ATM.

If we can make it happen that would be great. I don’t mind a 90 minute drive if it’s required.

Would be good to have a round as the three amigos. I’m thinking play Saturday at Maryborough and then we can travel to Mt Coolumn for a social or comp round there…my treat on fuel ;)

Node, I should be down there in early May. Hopefully will be in Maryborough on Friday the 3rd. Might see if I can play comp on Saturday if possible. Do you still have your spare buggy?

Node I’m aiming for October 11 & 12th at Maryborough. Social or comp rounds, or both ;) then 13th travelling to Coolumn to play with Weetbix and hopefully yourself and hopefully comp too.

Todays round…

Left home with it pouring rain…. The car park was almost empty on arrival and no cars with trailers to be seen.

3 Golf tragics like myself were hanging around the pro shop in the hope of getting a round in, another 2 were to follow, we split into 2 groups of 3 and Tee’d off when the rain broke and it looked like we may only get a few showers during the round.

I played well, with a birdie on the 2nd, par on the 3rd, it started to rain on the 4th again, Par on the 5th, OOB pull hook on the 6th, par the 7th, Birdie on the 9th for 19 points.

But we were saturated and the course had become un playable with rain still pouring down we had to abandon the round.

I finally got my putter going again and really did not want to stop playing.

So as the comp was not cancelled it becomes another NCR that is 2 in 2 weeks not helping my handicap at all :(
