Went out yesterday for 9 and played LH. Was quite surprised by how good i hit shots from 100 m in and around the greens actually, i hit some cracking wedge shots which went in low and spun, had me thinking i may play lh from 100 in when playing rh !!! now for the rest, well it was a struggle. bunkers had become a scarey place and off the tee was terrible with the hybrid i had. once i got near the green i was fine and really solid but getting there was a challenge, i suffered from the old lift ya head syndrome and tried to hit it too hard i suspect. it seems i have a natural draw lh as well as a shank. Not sure why i decided to toture myself after spending the last 30 years becoming a reasonable player. played both balls out properly including many shots in bunkers

par 33 (executive 9) with some work i reckon 12-15 h’cap is possible, to play reasonable i will need some serious swing work but i cant be bothered to be honest, found it tiresome hacking it around so i’ll leave playing LH to the experts. Early days…....Scratchboy….....you did say you were going to start with the short irons and then build up. Then you go out and play 9 holes with all the clubs. (You sound like stink – go for broke from the start)
I would have thought using someone else’s left handed HG’s and expecting to play to 40 – wasn’t going to happpen. Give it time.

Well…......still trying to wake up after a epic day yesterday.
pegged it up at yarra with ISG royalty the great man Francie on the Murray course stroke off the plates. i chopped it around for 82 nett and frank had 77 nett with a quad on the last, nice day, crap golf.
With that went home and loaded up the boat with the big esky full of beer and picked up frank and Sue and headed out onto the lake. Jimmy Barnes was playing an open air concert on the foreshore of the ski club, being tight arses we anchored out on the lake about 250 M away from the stage with about 50 other boats and pontoon boats, called a mate who was out there also and we tied up along side and prceeded to empty the esky out.

Had a go at 4BBB scratch pennant on sunday, troy and i got up and the team was beat by the home team, always a tough ask playing a team at home, we lost 3/2 not bad really.
1st time playing this format and it was fun actually, was no more than a putting contest really, most greens all 4 of us were on and it was a battle of the blades. our opponents were draining them the 1st 6 holes or so and we were getting worried. We ground them down eventually and won 3/2 which was a great result.
must have been 15 or so birdies i reckon, many holes squared with birds, was fun and will play the rest of the games.
Here’s some free advice….........DO NOT try and play LH if a righty, stuffed my back and still sore as hell 6 days later :-)
Had a 9 hole playing lesson with Frank yesterday, glen has sorted francie and look out you blokes playing sanctuary lakes….........He’s back.
apparantly Glen reckons i need to hit short shots at the place where they hit balls away for no apparent reason….........pffft dreamin. Swing is fine which is good, didn’t hit it well due to sore back.
