Just a quick update from yesterday’s round with sikkent and a couple of ghetto social golfer mates. Fun day out and finished off the day at the bar and caught up with snapHOOKER for a yarn as well.

Playing of the whites, shot 41 pts in a show of very mediocre golf. Surprised the hell outta me and sikkent when we tallied up the results at the end.

Started off on the 10th with a near regulation par. 3wd to 145m, 7i to right fringe putter to 4 ft an sunk the putt for par.

11th pull hooked the drive leaving 155m to the green, smoked the 6i to pin high, 2 putts for par.

12th 7i to left fringe of the green. 2putts for par.

13th. Smoked the drive leaving 240m to green. Pushed 3w a little wide and short leaving 45m to green, with the worlds worst lie in a crack. Pulled out the 60 deg wedge and landed on the green sans back spin, rolled through into the rough. Chipped back on to 4 ft and lipped out on the par putt, tapped in for bogey.

14th smoked drive to 135m, 9i to pin high, a little too much draw. 30ft skimmed the high side of the cup and tapped in for par.

Great star eh? Well I got ahead of myself and the wheels fell off lol.

15th chunked my 9i off the tee and thought I pulled it into the water, chunked the next shot and landed the green with 35 uphill putt and left it 6 foot short. 2 more putts for for double bogey. Ouch.

Skied 3w on the 16th tee just past the ladies tee. Easy 3hybrid just short of the water hazard. Snap hooked 5i left into trees. Limped forward again with another chunked 7i into greenside bunker. Dribbled out of the bunker but still short of green. Chipped to 10 ft and drained the putt for double bogey.

Pulled driver onto 16th fairway from 17th tee. Well struck 3 Ed that pulled a little left and caught an errant branch (my story – sticking to this version) and dropped, 60m left to green. Chunked lob wedge 5 m short again, chipped to 3 ft. Missed bogey putt, and sunk the next for double bogey.

18th – had enough of being shit a smoked driver to 70m. Sailed the green with choked down 54 deg sand wedge and landed on the rear fringe to a middle green pin position. First putt left me short, 9ft with a strong right to left break. Sunk it like a champ for par.

21 pts at the turn and was scratching my scone wondering what the hell had just happened.

Teeing off the first, mishit the drive courtesy of my mate faffing around directly behind my swing. Managed to land it between two fairway bunkers. 135 m in, hit 9i too well and landed 5 m off the back of the green, got too cute with the chip back on and knocked it past the pin leaving 25 ft putt – which just lipped out and tapped in for bogey.

Parred hole 2 after landing the approach short of the green and hitting the flag with the birdy chip, tap in par.

Hole 3 was frustrating. Landed the drive of the day to 50m, and over thought th lob wedge and airmailed the green, the rough behind the green OOB. Reloaded for my fourth shot, angry, and pushed it right pin high. Chipped to 2 ft and missed the double Bogey putt and tapped in for triple bogey and a wipe.

4. Hit a ground grubbed that wormed its way up the fairway mleaving me with 270m to green. Pulled my 3w left and hit a provy, in case I couldn’t find it. Ended up finding it and chunking my SW into he fairway bunker, still 30 m to green. Got out and on, lipped out my 16 ft putt and tapped in for bogey.

5 GIR reg 2 putt, meh reg par.

6th mishit a 9i that found its way to the green. 2 putts and another par. Thank you for coming.

7th hit an ok drive down the fairway. Chunked 8iron onto front fringe. Left a Texas wedge about 5ft short, just missed the par saver and sank the next for bogey.

8th smoked the next drive of the day. 90m to green rear flag position. Airmailed the green again and flopped an awesome shot 10 m to a tight pin sloping away. 2 putts for bogey.

9th. Pw on, 2 putts for par.

20pts in. 21 pts out. 41 for the day. And still not sure how I managed it. Sikkent on the other hand shot the lights out, 46 pts 21/25 playing off 20. 82 off the stick and a PB to boot.

If only. Most wtf rounds leaving me scratching my head and looking at a very dismal scorecard.

9/14 fairways.
5 GIRs 3 of which were par 3s.
32 putts.
After the first 5 holes, didn’t really hit many clean iron shots and felt like I was struggling.

Nice scramble and getting the putt count down.
