No Comp today to bloody hot for a midday tee off. So after playing Tiger woods on the PS3 I thought I would go out in the afternoon breeze for a Quick 9. I ended up with a 46 on the back nine. The driver was better than normal, I worked on some stuff Zen showed me when I was in Melbourne before Christmas. so that’s all going well. Driver has been a really big problem for me lately. so some range time will be in order the next few weeks to ingrain this. chipping was a little off but nothing to worry to much about. I’ve put in a lot of work in that and putting the last few months. Irons were a little off something just didn’t sound right when it made contact with the ball. it was odd I have never heard it before, but the ball still went were I wanted it too. I believe the next few months I should be getting some great results. Guess time will tell. God hope I can get H\C under 20 soon its been a long time since i was 20.1 now at 22.9

Today was my first comp in a few weeks with all this bad weather we have been having. The don and Weetbix” his first card for his H\C” were my playing partners. 1 Birdie Moving forward to next week. I will keep up my PST training, plus a trip to the range to work out my new distances. My old irons were a lot stronger an my new irons don’t go as far. and add in a little time on my short game and putting, will make my h/c drop faster then a dollar hooker..

Today’s round was at Keperra with The Don. I ended up with 31 Points 18 an the front and 13 on the back. The back nine is really tough. Just as hard as the closing holes at Redcliffe. It all started off great with a couple of pars to get the ball rolling. I played solid golf till the last hole with I wiped but finished with 18 points. The back nine started off good with a 5 for three on the tenth. then A bogey on the eleventh. Then it all went to shit from there. I finished with 13 points on the back Nine. My driver went cold after 11 holes and I struggled to get anything going. My putting and short game were good. Putting could of been a bit better ended up with 32 putts, a few skimmed the edges and didn’t drop. my distance control was great. Chipping and pitching were good. Just my driver on the last few hole let me down. The game plan for this week is to keep on doing what I have been, The driver will fall into line real soon. Only thing I will be changing next week is not pancakes for brekkie, PLUS I will keep away from the sausage rolls at the half way house.

I played Coolangatta and Tweed Heads Golf Club – River Course on Friday where I had a solid round of 36 points. Today I carved up the Front nine at Gailes having 22 Points with NO Bogeys of any kind. With 16 on the back for a grand total of 38 points, Bring my H/C down to 21 now after the last two good rounds. The driver was straight today but normally just in the first cut of rough. normally if its off its out in the sticks, So that’s a big move forward. Chipping today was on fire again and so was my putting. I had 28 putts a all time low for me even with 2 three putts. putting and my driver will be the big areas I need to make happen on my Drive for my drive to a mid H/C. My Irons shots were really solid too, My HG’s are Going like a bat of of hell. I have almost gotten use to the new distances they go,so that should get better as well in the next few weeks. Fridays stats -http://www.golfshot.com/Rou... Today’s-http://www.golfshot.com/Rou... The next few weeks will see me working on my driver. Just getting set up better and aiming the bloody thing do I am not rolling out in to the rough. Plus more putting and bunker work. Also I have started doing Clear Keys so i cant wait for that to happen as well.

Today I went out for a little quick nine in the midday sun. Ended up with a 45 for three under my H/c on the front nine. I’m really happy with how everything is going with my irons and driver. I had two three putts just from not taking my time setting up correctly on short putts. I had added a mental note for Sunday to take my time on short putts. Chipping was of high standards, with Lots of hard work going into it over the last few months, it kinda makes me happy so see that part of my game getting stronger. The driver was going strong , just one mental laps. More work is needed on it but I am sure the hard work will pay off just like it did with my chipping. The big improvement over the last few weeks seems to be my mental side. I feel carm over the ball and not twitchy. I think this has come from me doing my Clear Keys profile. It’s really helping me keeping my mined in check. I would some times drift off and not really aply myself to the shot at hand.

Sandy the chopper turned up today an man did it chopp it good. 13 points on the front nine and 16 for the back nine. Only one wipe but a couple of three putts, lots of one pointers and add in a duffed chip or two making my way along struggle street was complete. The day started off good but the rain pissed down after two holes and drizzled the rest of the way around. My ball striking was ok. My driver was not much worse than last week. Just a few crap chips in the wet and a couple of make able putts that I missed cost me. The end result is my handicap will move out to 21.7 . My next flag will fall off next week and that’s a playd to 19. So it’s back to the putting and chipping green this week.

I wish mate…. 18 by tax time is the goal. There will be some good times and a few bad ones as well. I also have got into a regular group so that makes my golf better. Driver will be the key..

So it was back at Gailes for the Sunday Comp today, I ended up with 33 points. We started on the front nine. After smashing the first drive of the day down the guts I thought I was back on my merry way. But I wasn’t meant to be. After the first three holes I had 2 points and after. Nine I was sitting not so good on 13 points with two wipes. Front nine highlights were a par on the fourth. Other than that it was Pi$$poor. The back nine was a lot better with twenty points with two par’s one on the fourteenth and the other on the seventeenth. The driver was good today with 60% of fairways hit. 43% on the front and 75% on the back. Irons were a little be average today I didn’t feel right over the ball. Some work will be needed on them in the coming weeks. No fat shots just bad ball striking. Wedge play was good, no duffed chips or part shots so i was happy with that. The area that cost me today was my putting 22 puts on the front with two three putts and a four putt. Very average the back nine was a bit better with 17 with one three putt. Today’s advuntures moves me out to 22.6. I didn’t stay on 21 for too long but a 22 and today 19 moving out of my top twenty. Can’t move out much more. The back nine I played today is where my golf needs to be for my run at 18 and beyond it’s just a matter of time I hope. Two weeks ago It looked like a sure thing but in golf I guess there is not sure things.

33 points was good enough to get me a ball in the rundown. Good times…...

Today’s game was at Coolangatta and Tweed Heads Golf Club on there river course. This place is like a second home to me with my in-laws just up the road I get to play there a fair bit when I want to get away from them. Today it was the River course, With Dazza and Back9. The round started off with a par, the first of six for the day, with a solid drive and a good bunker shot that lest me with a easy 4 footer I was on my way to 22 points on the front. the only low point for the first nine was the three 3 putts. The greens on the river course are always hard and fast. you would think that i would remember that. But I didn’t and payed the price. The back nine started off with a bogey. Then I went on another par run that ended on the 13th with a wipe. I have never played this hole well but i need to work out a way to get two points on it for next time. and from there I limped home with 18 points on the back to finish up with 40 points. Strong points for the round were, My driving I’m back into a grove with the big stick, well today I did tomorrow will another day. My short game was on song again. I would be really Ducked if I didn’t have it. 60% from the bunkers and 30% scrambling. Low points for the round was my number of 3 putts. I will be taking extra practice on the lino in the kitchen to get the speed right for next time. My irons were not hot nor were they cold I would say average at best but that’s another thing I’m working on. My full states can be viewed here—http://www.golfshot.com/Rou...
