Today I chopped it around for 30 points at Gailes. I started on the back nine and had a bad start with a total of twelve points with three wipes. The front nine was a lot better with 18 points and one wipe.

Putting today was very solid, the same with my pitching with is good with all the work i am putting into it.

Driving today was better than it has been but still a fair way off my best, in the end i managed to get 8 of 15 fairways.

My alinement today was bad and that’s where my wipes came from.
Today all my wipes but one came from being in the trees and trying to get out. I was guilty of trying to get it down the fairway too much
Instead of trying just getting back on the fairway and it robbed me of a better score.

Next week will be a new week. I hope i will be getting back to lowering my h/c.

Today was my First comp of the year at Gailes, I played with Weetbix and pigskin. I finished up with 35 points.

I thought it was really good result being my first game their in over a month. My scoring was hot and cold but I managed to hang in there on some of the bad holes and get a point and not stuff the whole up with a wipe. I was really happy about that.

My putter today was good with 31 putts. My short game on song today and it was nice to have it back to where it use to be. My driver today was my Achilles heel again. I have been working on it a fair bit and its just a matter of time before it comes up to be better than crap. I hit 4 of 7 fairways on the front for 57%. The back nine it put me in a lot of crap spots 2 of 8 for 25%.

I had 3 par’s that that’s starting to become the norm for me over the last few months. The problem has been double Bogies with 7 of them, leaving me with 8 Bogies.

Moving forward to next week. I will be working on my driver doing more alignment work plus working on my takeaway speed it’s starting to get faster and that might be one of the problems with it. Add in my PST’s and some Extra bunker work on top of my short game & putting.

You have an adjustable driver. I really believe that the best thing you can do is go to a range, set it in neutral, and take the most natural swings you can with it to see where the ball goes. Then you can set the driver up to work with your natural swing.

You’re doing you PSTs so you don’t want to be thinking about takeaway speed or anything else when you swing.

Your short game was definitely back today. Putting chipping pitching was all solid except for a couple of pitches that flew.

I am really looking forward to you getting that driver to work with your natural swing so you don’t have to try and make your swing work with the driver. There must be a way! :-)

I should of send to work more on taking away the club with my shoulders.when i go to fast the hands lead . i swing better when the shoulders go first.

When it go’s all together like at hope island i drive really well.

If i am reading this grid right A4 is standard lie but 12 of loft.

A3 would be 12 and 1.5* upright. making it closed

How is that closed ?

Sorry – I got colour fixated. I thought you had A1! Which would be neutral.

A4 in terms of higher loft makes sense. Maybe would expect to set up a little draw biased for you? A3 or B3? Hard to say without getting you to just hit balls with your natural swing and see what happens. If I assume that your drive on the first was you just swinging without trying to fix anything then I would expect A3 to be an option. Or else maybe just setting up with a little stronger grip? I have to grip it stronger with driver than short irons generally. It’s only a 1 o’clock to 1.30-2o’clock change, so not much, but it does make a difference. For me anyway.

Zen gave me some stuff work on with the driver but i haven’t done any range time with it so i haven’t used it. But i win be looking to get some range time this week to nut it out

That’s the way i got to swing. But i Need a bit more practice. Range time will grain it For me. I was swing like that the day before with Weetie and played like shit. Just some more practice and it will be there.
