He has vanished! What happened?

Last I heard he was off searching for the lost city of Atlantis.

Ooh, I hope he doesn’t get his yellow cardigan wet!

Hi, Tony’s brother Ray here.

Tony is in Beijing supervising the construction of an 18 hole members’ course (about 60% complete) not far from the international airport. The course is set in gentle, rolling country and has a series of inter-connected lakes running through it. It was originally a tree nursery and, because all the trees are deciduous, any tree which requires transplanting is simply moved to another position on site.

This will be a marvellous golf course to play – tough but fair. Overall, a very beautifu setting.

Welcome aboard Ray.
I thought the Cashmores had pulled out of the forum debates ?
Being Tonys brother, are you in the industry too ?
Seems that the course design/building market is big in asia, will the father and son team be back to do more work locally, soon ?
From what I’ve read and heard, young cashmore is still upset about being called a cheat by some of the other members of ISG ?
Anyway, I hope you fit in and have plenty to contribute, Jon…

Thanks for your welcome, Jon. Yes, I am working with Cashmore Golf Design. I have watched (but not contributed to) this site for a number of years and have observed the tone of many contributors who have mounted constant personal attacks on the family. I will contribute to this site in a positive way, but if it gets nasty, I’ll not bother.

There is still quite a lot of work in Australia for us, but Asia is also looming large. As incomes rise in many parts of Asia, the demand for good golf courses is surging. We are very happy to continue to meet the demands from both markets.

Hi Ray thanks for dipping by. Positive stuff is what we wish to see happen around the place. Forums being what they are will always find the squeaky wheels out there finding something to knock. Oil can is better now than it was though.

China is just amazing. Boom times golf wise for sure. Just wish the air was more breathable so you could see the flag at some places:)

Hey Ray, how did you come to work with Tony? Did you win a contest ?
