G’day Tony, I haven’t been here for a while, but I trust you have been well and not missing me too much.

Some friends of mine played at 13th Beach (Beach Course)recently and reported that the maintenence there is really going downhill, especially in regards to growing thick rough around the bunkers and greens, removing the challenege of a lot of the short grass chipping areas that make the greens so interesting to play to. Some of the fairways have shrunk in size with more rough growing in to reduce the playing widths.

Have you had anything to do with this, or has the owner gone mad down there again (ala the crappy bunkers he built inside the dogleg on the excellent 17th hole). I love 13th Beach (Beach Course only, the other one is just a layout) and it would be a real shame to see it suffer due to a poor set up

seriously he’s in China with 3 or 4 courses on the go, I don’t disagree that its out if order that their’s no response but I would suggest that Iseek is bottom of his priority list.

China would be the fastest growing market in the world for new construction of golf courses, don’t know of many new builds in Australia. Therefore he is where the work is.

How come he isn’t here then telling everyone how great these new Chinese courses are? It is his style to pump up his own tyres at every opportunity. Speaking of which, when is he going to write some new articles for this website?

Its a disgrace the way he has used this forum in the past to dribble all kinds of crap yet now he refuses to answer legitimate questions about his past work.

Another day and still no reply from Australia’s (self proclaimed)most decorated golf course architect. What a piss poor effort. Clearly the broadband in China is too expensive to for him to reply to his army of fans back here in Australia.

Thanks for your kind words. It’s great to hear the armchair architects so vocal. On 13th Beach, I was down there recently and it looked sensational to me. A couple of changes have been done here and there which I think adds even more to the place.

As for Tony, well he’s been busy working at courses we have under contruction in China. Also, the rude nature of some here has made him feel like you’re not really inteested in hearing from him. Have another look at the comments and tell me what else you’d like him to do.

If there are sensible questions or comments that you want Tony to answer then I’ll have him respond. But don’t expect to get much of his time when you insult him.
