Calulating Stroke Index

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been raised before, but I did a search and couldn’t find anything.

Our ladies want to reset the stoke index for our course. Anyone got any idea how the calculations are to be done?

You need to add up all scores for each hole, then find the average score for each hole. The hole whose average score is the greatest margin above that hole’s par, is the #1 rated hole (because its the toughest).
eg: a par 3 hole with an average score of 4 is tougher than a par 5 with an average score of 6, because the par 3’s average score is 33% above par (4 over 3), while the par 5’s average score is 20% above par for that hole (6 over 5). So the par 3 is a tougher hole.
Clear as mud ?
