Andigold and I are planning to have a monthly game at at new track every month. First up will probably be Portsea. We will be playing the same Sunday each month ie, the third Sunday, first is out. To make it a four, we need 2 more to join us, hopefully you will be able to commit every month. Living South East would be handy so we can car pool. Having an official handicap would be good too. Got any questions? please ask. And hopefully join us. First match will hopefully be in May at Portsea (before it's um, redesigned) AM or PM tee time is open at this stage. Cams

Cams a suggestion, I'd like to do it but may not be able to commit every month and i guess that would be the same story for a lot of the guys here. Maybe keep this thread and bump it up to the top to see if you can get anyone to come possibly 1wk or so before tee off. This way you have a greater chance of getting the last 2 players and you might end up getting to meet more Melb based ISG'ers. Just a thought

I'm in the same boat, some Sundays OK, others would be no good. Happy to come in off the bench if needed and available. Car pool sounds good, happy to drive there but you can drive home...
One trouble is that some courses (or is that many?) require payment up front. If we had a set 4 then it's easy. Having players on the bench may make this harder and could lead to wasted green fees, which I don't really want to be responsible for. We may have a third, so one floating spot is not too hard. A work collegue of mine books for 17 leaving 3 spots to pay on the day, we could book 3 advertise for a 4th and they can pay on the day. Either way, it is an idea in progress, suggestions welcome. I'd like to put the 3rd Sunday up as my preffered.

I guess trust is probably a big factor in arranging something
like this and I'm of a mind that generally speaking, most of
the guys/gals here would uphold their end of the bargain whenever
they decide to commit to an outing.

Cams could be very interested live in Pakenham and don't have a regular group to play with get back to me if you're still looking for someone
Cheers for the responses. It seems we may have 2 groups now. I'll see about organizing our first game in the next few days. Any objections to the third Sunday of every month?
No problem here Cams 3rd Sunday sounds great mate.
So are we looking at the 20th May at Portsea for the first hit out?
Sounds great andigold you can count me in if there's still a place available
Well I was thinking arranging something easy for our first game, which can also act as a meet and greet and discuss future days. For this I was thinking a game at Montuna, but it seems that most want to hit Portsea on the 20th, I'll give them a call, I hope they don't want money up front.

hird S unday Sounds a bit suss, but will do for now. I have booked 2 groups for the 20th May at Portsea Golf Club.
Green fees are $45 Tee times 8:40 and 8:47 A little earlier than I would like, but not much choice. I have paid a deposit for 2 green fees, so don't let me down. There are 8 spots available (ones mine) Please advise whether you will be playing, we can also work out car pooling. I will initially give priority to those that have indicated their desire to join us.
Myself I think that is all that has indicated interest. If we don't fill 8 spots then spots will be open for others to join. So you have till 1 week prior to event to accept before spots are open to other ISG members. With regards to car pooling, if everyone playing advises me where they live I can plot everyone on a map and work out who picks up who. We can also have an earlier game at Montuna if anyone wants to, let me know. It will be a Sunday AM tee time. If anyone wants to be in charge of prizes or keep track of competitor results etc let me know. Perhaps an end of year trophy for the overall winner. Must have handicap to be part of this I reckon. Or maybe we need a handicapper. An extra few bucks a round could go to this. What are we going to play? Stroke Stableford... Par?

Whilst I think that is a great name, I doubt others will agree.

Fyiri of your 5400 odd posts this would have to be one of the
best.

He at least put some thought into it.

Cams. Consider my spot free as I my weekends are all booked for May. Damn it. I really wanted to see who was taller , me or Judge.
Thanks GG If another indicates they can't play then a spot will be open for others.

Cam's, sorry to be the 2nd party pooper but I have just been appointed Coach of my sons Soccer Team so Sundays are out for me for a while. I was thinking though, if you guys wanted to you could all join the ANZ Social Golf Club, play once a month on a Sunday morning and get away in the groups with blokes only from ISG and no organisation needed as it's all done for you. $40 a year to join. Great Social group, most rounds are $35 a head and there is a free piss up at the end of the year.
Webpage is here.

Had a quick look at the website there Judge, happenend to notice
a bloke by the name of Kevin Nolan with a declared handicap of
14, smells like a Bandit to me.
Great idea Judge, but that would limit us to those courses each year.
Yes but there is no organisation involved, prizes already donated, raffles organised, good blokes to play with and a great end of year Christmas party with Santa for the kids, BBQ and free beer. What more do you wnat??
Andi, the handicapper is a good mate of mine
And I don't think you smell and bandit, more like stale Jack
Daniels and crushed grapes...

Wasn't the ANZ Social Golf Club the one with the dodgy treasurer?
