ISG Day in Perth

I was talking to another ISG'er yesterday and we were talking about how it has been a long while since we had an ISG day in Perth.

So, is there enough interest to start one up?

We certainly have enough members in the west now to get something going.
If you want to be a part of it or have any suggestions as to time and place let us know.

Hi Veefore,

Count me in.

regards

Gordon

Subject to the number of birthday parties my daughter has on the weekend chosen definitely interested. biggrin.gif

Yep, I'd hopefully be a starter as well.

Well, at least we have a start. I am sure there are a couple of others who don't post here very often who will also join in. Does anyone have any preferences for when and where?

anywhere apart from Wembley biggrin.gif

assuming that most courses have or about to core, maybe mid to late October after school holidays is good?

Just in the throws of sorting something out at Chequers to do a golf day and some grub that will link in with Iseek. You guys may get out and about before this one is sorted but will keep you informed as to a bash date...good social fund day in mind.

Chequers is great course, how is it looking at the moment without a super?

Like Wembley a lot, just spend a lot of time their. smile.gif

I know its a bit of a hike and not cheap, but what about the Cut? I have only played the back nine, would be great to get play the whole 18.

I'll be in Perth on the weekend of 6th Oct to 9th Oct for sister's wedding...if that helps... laugh.gif

Not sure what I'll be doing...but I'm defn bringing my set with me...

Stuart Hall (yep the pitching article fellow) has been doing a great job since Jeff left. Now the dam is all done time is being spent making it look better around the place. Stuart is a UK greensman as well as teacher.

Any weekend after the long weekend is fine by me, maybe a good idea to avoid school holidays too, there are lots of Junior tournaments on about that sort of time.

So at this stage it looks like preferred dates would be either Saturday/Sunday the 7th/8th October so that Mau can play, or Saturday the 21st of October (Sunday 22nd is Karrinyp Bowl for those that are planning to enter it).

School holidays are 30th September to 15th October.

I'll have to check and get back...
just found out my sister's wedding thing is in the morning on the Saturday...and not sure what's going on Sunday...

I'm interested in a hit if there is a free spot. I'm a member at WAGC but can't get any visitors on for a couple of months until Sundays arvos are free again.

V4, whats the story with the Karrinyup Bowl? is it open to anyone if they have a handicap or are there handicap limits?

Cheers

Karrinyup Bowl is handicap limited ( I think it was 12 last year but can't be sure) and it is 36 holes in one day which keeps the "Less than fit" players away because it is a very tough walk with no carts allowed.

Isn't the Prosperity Cup coming up at WAGC in a couple of weeks? That is another one that I am thinking about entering since it is less than 5 minutes from home and I really enjoy the course.

Handicap limit this year is 14 but the course is now in the process of having major renovations done and the front nine is out of play until next year.

Hi there,

I have just seen this thread, am new to ISG, but would be keen for a hit if it is on a Saturday. Sunday is no good for me.

Cheers

Slightly off topic, but if anyone would like to have a hit at Hartfield on the public holiday monday I am putting a group together. The greens were cored and sanded last monday so they are VERY slow but at $22 for non club members and (I think) $11 for members of other clubs it is fairly good value.
There is also a comp on so any members of other clubs will be eligible to play.

I'm in but will need notice for a weekday game..

sorry - won't be bringing the sticks with me this weekend!!! sad.gif
