Well, having wasted my efforts in all of the previous OOM’s on my former man Goldy, who frankly, has been one huge disappointment after another, in terms of his performance in the “ones that matter,” including his spectacular implosion at Sanctuary Lakes where he actually erected his own “vet screens” and shot himself in the foot after his first stroke on the course proper ............. for the upcoming Order of Merit Event at Heidelberg, today I’m introducing, and unveiling ...... “Operation Frank”. No other player in the history of OOM’s has failed to live up to expectations … quite like our very own Frank. Time and again at each subsequent Order Of Merit …... he has wandered into one clubhouse after another ….. to find the expectant crowd full of questions, only to deliver yet another disappointing dissertation on how “he was robbed” out there. We all know only too well, that Frank clearly over the journey, has had the potential to be a multiple major winner by now, yet for some reason, he has failed to really put it together in the high pressure atmosphere of an Order Of Merit event. Not this time. With 39 days left until the event …. I plan to assist Frank in reaching the peak of his golfing performance, and no stone will be left unturned in an effort to lift Frank over the line and onto the highest step on the podium come the Heidelberg Order of Merit, and I hope you will share in his journey. To that end, on the weekend I did a detailed reconnaissance of the course itself, and am plotting a hole by hole strategy for Frank to employ on the day. In the weeks leading up to the actual event, Frank will be gently weaned off all flat golf courses, and will instead, spend his time sequestered up at Beaconhills where he will train on all manner of lies, and sloping conditions. (Whilst up at Beacy, Frank will be housed in the Wasabipea suite, a classically decorated 70’s porn style cabin …. and bombarded with a continuous diet of Tiger Woods PGA Tour Victories through the 50 inch plasma). I figure if together, we can’t get Frank over the line in this particular Order of Merit, with all of ourcombined resources behind him … then he will simply never win one …... We all are so sick and tired of his “Best Player Never To Have Won An OOM” tag …...... so to that end, I encourage you all to contribute to this thread, with your ideas and suggestions for getting Frank over the line, this time out. He CAN do it this time around guys …. we all know he can, and. together we can lift Frank and his wallet over the line, so let’s all join together, and get Operation Frank underway with your thoughts and suggestions….......

I’m sure that the groundswell of support for you Frank is about to rise up …..... and will carry you to victory on the day. Count on us Frank …..... we’ll get you there buddy, and we’ll all take great pleasure in seeing you hoist the trophy aloft (we really need a trophy for each OOM event I reckon ….... not that I’m volunteering)

I hope you can do it Francie. Of all the OOM courses this one favours you most, So pleased to see Peaksy win at Sanctuary Lakes, he was the second best player never to have won an OOM. No doubt this course set up for his game. GPJ would suggest you take Francie around H Berg a few times and play course from white tees and blue tees so he will be ready for both possibilities on OOM Sunday. Its getting harder and harder to win an OOM with so many good players in each event trying to grab the title. Other in form players that Francie has to beat here are Equipment

I’ll back Francie…do you think all this pressure is helping? How about we set up 6 challenges for the 18 holes at the berg. Frank excelled on the Regulation challenge against Stink. I am hoping to have a hit on Sunday 14th April at the berg, so if anyone is interested let me know.

Inkosi, I think we should declare you our “Man on the ground”, as you are playing The Berg in the very week preceeding the OOM …...... As a founding member, and now an integral part of Frank’s team …... could you give Frank an update on the course condition post your “berg” round? I figure that having you on board will give Frank the inside running into what to expect, and its worthy of at least a one or two shot saving for him going around.

CB, not a bad asessment, although I think you are doing Frank a slight disservice, whilst pumping up the tyres of some who may not handle the conditions .. namely …..... Ghettobandit, who is clearly a flat track bandit at best, andf I reckon, won’t worry the scorers too much. Lefty Tiges ….. Although I do have a soft spot for Georgy Boy, I fear he has played his OOM one game too early. He could also turn up on time for the OOM event ..... which of course, would just ruin his whole pre-game routine. Goldenback .. He too shot his bolt already at The Berg I fear, and his committee duties on the day (like your’s) seem to take the toll, and the focus away from actually playing the game. RobFagNewy …...... Is still trying to find something to wear I believe, and if he turns up in his predicted “beige ensemble”, I expect his game to follow along the same lines. Unfortunately Robbie struggles with any hills type course, eg cast your mind back to his world renowned efforts up at Beacy, as well as his ongoing, and much publicised battles on Eastwood’s slopes. Peaksy I figure this time out will also find himself at odds, due to all the calculations he will have to do when standing on a sidehill lie. DJCraig ….... who knows what sort of mindset he will be in come the big day. Can he put the past behind him, or will he spend the round with his nose pressed to the rule book. It should be an interesting day though …. but I think Frank, with his own set of tailor made and tweaked Mizzy’s these days, is in for the OOM day to end all OOMs.

I can provide it for you Smergs …. in no particular order….. Eynesbury …..... Frank was robbed I’ll toss in Bendigo as well ….... when Frank was on his honeymoon, and may have had his mind elsewhere, as well of course …...... as nearly being starved to death by you and your brother in a blatant effort to nobble his otherwise great chances on the day.

Have I missed any of them Frank?

You missed Castlemaine… where I do believe Frank took out some silverware… but that wasn’t an OOM…

Thanks Inkosi, you will be, and are, a great aquisition to the team. Further developments now …..... ........ and in our all out attempt to assist Frank in scaling his own golfing Everest, I can confirm the “rumours” that Team Frank are indeed in contract negotiations with sports science guru …... Stephen Danks, (who’s schedule has suddenly appeared to open up of late.) The rumours are indeed factual in basis …....... they “exist”. I can however, neither confirm or deny reports that Kerry Kulkens, “Astrologer to the stars” has been approached to create an astrological chart based on Franks birthdate … as to his chances of success on the 21st of April. Whilst apparently his Uranus is currently on the rise …. the full prognostication is yet unclear as to his chances on the day. More to follow shortly …...... I should let you know though …..... that positions still remain vacant on the team for the following skills. Frank’s dietician So,if you wish to apply for one of the above …..... please forward your resume to “Get Frank Across The Line FFS” ... and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible

Yes, I believe there is a Castlemaine Hotel Manager somewhere who is still hot on the trail … over some missing silverware from the Ladies Lounge …...... hence me keeping Castlemaine on the quiet … big mouth!!

This whole thing stinks of match fixing to me. Everyone is pumping up Francie and they are secretly going to have their real dollars on some smokey who will come out of nowhere. Who is it that you have “up your sleeve” so to speak?

I’ll put my hand up to be Frank’s bouncer, mainly to keep the ‘entourage’ Gaz is putting together back at a safe distance so that he can play his round.

Welcome to the Team, Snappy … Tis wonderful to have you aboard. You are another fine inclusion .. and I must say, will fill a very critical role on the big day. With your assistance on the day …. If you can facilitate Frank’s efforts in maintaining his focus, and not be sidetracked by the many sycophants and hangers on ..... you will be a wonderful asset, and no doubt, play some small part in Frank’s upcoming achievement. Get your OOMBet dollars ready Snappy … Team Frank is on the march.

Frank is always popular with the OOMBETters.. but so far hasn’t really given much in ways of a return. Perhaps indeed, that this could be a ploy by GPJ to sway the balance of OOMBET cash to one side, whilst he loads up on the likes of those recommended by CB (who apparently is close to Formguide) and hits the lead in the OOMBET OOM…. OOMBETOOM… I like it.

Deege, having met you and played alongside you now, I would hope that you could see past this seemingly conniving outer exterior ….and deep into the heart of this “sports loving purist”. I guess having only recently joined the ISG fraternity, you are in the dark, as to Frank’s standing within the broader golfing community. Frank we believe, is in fact ISG’s own “Stephen Bradbury”. A player of great and untold potential ….... but one who has really to date …..... failed to fire a single shot when it really mattered. This time out though …....... we expect others to fall on the day in question, and for Frank to thrust forth his ice skate, and achieve his spot in the limelight that to date has eluded him … unjustly many, including me might well say. We believe its Frank’s turn to shine, and so we are banding together in order to see justice done, and to see him no longer be …..... “The Best Player Never To Have Won An OOM”. As far as any betting plunges go ….... we are in discussions at the moment with a statistician, going over Frank’s record in every preceeding OOM and on every type of golf course ….... in order to calculate the mathmatical probability of him winning, based on his past efforts. This summary data will then be presented to our resident OOM Bookmaker in order to ensure a just and fitting starting price for Frank, (given his poor performances in the past) That is all we are after in terms of odds, is a “just and fair” starting price. Anyone for instance, who saw Frank’s opening salvo at Hidden Valley (where he pushed it all of thirty metres into the agapantha’s ) ....... would be shocked if anything under “double figures ” was on offer for him, given his performances when “under pressure”. The big picture though is not retiring to an island in the sun with our mythical OOMBet winnings (although that would be nice), but rather, we are taking the higher ground this time out. We are taking the view that every dog has his day …... that Stephen Bradbury was a deserving gold medalist ….... that Glenn McGrath was a batsmen capable of hitting 61 every time he went out to bat ….and that this year ….. Richmond will finish above 9th place. There are enough nay sayers out there Deege, please don’t become another one. It’s Franks time to shine, so please jump on the bandwagon and join the team, whilst there’s still room ….......

Ok…I reckon I have a way to have this thing sewn up for “The Wallet Who Walks” before the field is even finalised. You may have noticed in my thread that Frank and I will indeed be in the same group for this round. Let me take you back to the fateful day at Lang Lang, some 18 months ago, when Frank and I were last grouped together. Stay with me people. Frank, using borrowed clubs, not fitted for his spectacular “Francie fade”, put on a clinic in ball-striking. In our 4BBB, I think we scored 44 points….we being Frank, who I think scored either 42 or 43 of them, with no assistance from yours truly. What on earth will he be capable of now that he has his own, custom fitted, buttery blades of beauty? AND with me as his personal shamrock (thanks Carson). Get on board people…the Frank bandwagon is hitching up….and you don’t want to miss this ride.
Shot more than 36 points in an OOM day….seriously. |

So, Goldy, can we put you down as team mascot, and perhaps, dietician? Frank might just benefit from some of your “bacon cake” I reckon.

Deege, having met you and played alongside you now, I would hope that you could see past this seemingly conniving outer exterior ….and deep into the heart of this “sports loving purist”.... snip… Ahh, but there is that role in every team which is an essential one to the endeavour – the doubting thomas, the exception which proves the rule, the devil’s advocate. These terms all have resonance because of the vast human condition which makes us distrust those outcomes in respect of which no dissenting voice is heard. So, lo, when I question how robust this process is, or throw questions to keep the prime agitants on their toes, this is not a witch hunt or an unjust burden on Team Francie. Rather it is a homage in the true tradition of scrutineers, the adversarial system and the socratic method.
