I got the late callup for a mate’s group, soft option though, only 18 holes – should be a good day!

Less than 4 hours 30 min between tee off in the morning and hitting off for the last 9 holes….....going to be interesting to see if they are on time.

So ….........what are you going to do for the hour or so in between our rounds …... drink? I should warn you guys, that I’m used to playing 3 hr rounds on the weekends these days …....... and being stumped up back at home and having my brekkie by 11 in the morning ….. so there will be no dilly dallying over you’re putts guys ….... as I plan on taking off and doing a spot of sightseeing between my rounds.

No all good, and all sorted. To clarify, we’re teeing off the 10th and continuously rolling through our 27 holes non stop. Well, maybe a sausage roll or a snag from the BBQ somewhere within the midst.

just had a look at the course guide on the website, I am seriously considering how the fark I am going to make it through 18, let alone 27 holes. OMFG, this place is no Royal Dorset…....

What has you worried IM? Very few people realise that the Marsh is actually quite a long course off the back. Out of the 68 courses in my spreadsheet that I’ve played, the Marsh is ranked 13th for length. There are very few “driver wedge” par 4s (the 10th being the exception if you smack it), and all Par 5s are better treated as 3 shotters. And whilst it is flat in most places, there are some slopes that keep you on your toes… But what it has is fairly forgiving rough, such that if you are offline, you will get a decent chance at a recovery shot. The “ragweed” throws up some uncertainty but if you play smart you should do OK.
