yer most C graders struggle with that, but I remember picking up the marker and BMAN had his name on it. We both started on the 10th LD was on the 15th I think, so he hadn’t warmed up yet, unlike his stinger on the 2nd……

I must clarify this, I did have my name on the Marker – but this was not actually my shot, and Acca can 2nd this. I hit mine well over the bunker by 80m and thought it was in play so picked marker up signed it and was walking to the ball when saw that it was meter of the short stuff. So returned Marker back down the fairway.
So yes Smergen is right the fact that it has to be on the fairway is my downfall.
But Mick yours LD was well deserved.

Just us in the “general public” don’t have it. Stick everyone’s in their signature if you’ve got nothing to hide…..........it may help some punters with OOMBET, if we can map everyone’s past scores…..and not just you “select” people who have everyone’s, golflink. Just sayin…..

That’s why some of us have opted out of OOMBET.

But it’s a good point, would anyone have any massive objection to having their golf link posted online?

Well Francie, with the previous round of OOMbet, I went through everybody’s handicap records and scored players on whether they have been playing to their handicaps with any reliability or if they had been bloody hopeless lately.

Then I made my bets ... and still lost.

So the insider information was utterly useless.

I’m happy to stay out of OOMbet or, if everyone agrees, to publish the list of numbers.

Yep I don’t want to be seen as a trouble maker but if some have everyone’s golflink number and not everyone, then there is an issue regarding “ethics”.

Just thought I’d throw that out there in these times of accountability.

No OB… I want as many as I can in OOMBET. Consider yourself “experts” and normal people can try and beat you.

We’ll get CB to ask at SL if people have an issue of publishing GL numbers I reckon.

Also Mrs. Bman and Bman would like to annouce that we have a new addition to the family. Another little Bman (Darcy) arrived late last night.
Should still be able to make SL – will depend on MrsB and how she is travelling.

A south westerly blowing 20-25km..cool conditions.

Was good to finally put a height to a name in meeting Kiwi, fanatastic guy (he not that short in feet), Djcraig hitting the ball into the stratosphere and Carson getting a smooth tempo and nailing some drives..

After the customary hugs between Muzz and Craig, Carson getting to gripes (intended word) with the range finder, we were off…
Met a local on the first fairway, being a baby tiger snake..

Wind will affect your game, so plan carefully…greens were not as fast as last week, but still able to check the ball on pitch and chip shots.
The rough has been cut down, but there is some pretty thick stuff out there.
Fairways were a bit dry and found the ball to sit up, so not that many deep divots.

O, We were off the blue tees..

Was great to get a look at the course before the event.
Learned a valuable lesson re: rangefinders too (they work much better when you look through the correct end :/ )

Wind will be a big factor on the day, so allow for it.
Noticed some of the bunkers had become really hard packed with a crusty layer on top of them which makes life tough.

Lots of two tiered greens will also become a factor on the day.
Getting approach shots right will save many strokes

Pack your own fluids for the round too.
I think I saw two taps on the course, so if it’s hot you’ll feel it.

there is actually privacy issues with peoples publishing golf link numbers according to Golf Australia ( I know but in this politically correct world we have to obey rules)
The committee need everyones GL numbers to help administer the OOM games.

OOMbet is designed and run by Smergen as bit of fun for virtual money, so no real dramas if one wins or looses.

Formguide gives players a good guide to who is hot and who is not. In the next one will put in Hcap at Curlewis vs now so punters can look at how someone has progressed since last OOM.

also keep in mind that we have a few players who’s only GL entries are from OOM games.

I agree wholeheartedly with CB Metrognome’s reticence, in regard to the “outing” of people’s golflink records, particularly being mindful in this day and age of the legal status re privacy etc.

( ......... Not that there’s anything wrong with it)

I for one, have an issue with my golflink data being available to all and sundry to analyse.

They (my Golflink records), are a closely guarded secret, in that my self esteem in particular, is inexorably tied to my golfing performances, and as such, it ebbs and flows in accordance with my exact handicap figure …. which is why my golflink results are recorded under a “non de plume”.

Below by the way, is my latest “non de plume” ....
