Godly, if you are on the good gear (prescription based anti inflamatories) it will take probably 5 -7 days or so before you feel any relief. (It did in my case). This is how the Osteo explained it to me ... if you have say 1,000 inflamed bits in your back, taking one anti-inflamatory pill will knock over 50 of them, the next pill another 50, and so they accumulate until they reduce the inflamation by about half of what it originally was. That’s the point when you suddenly find yourself being able to get up without having to haul yourself to your feet, or take ten minutes to get to the phone. Keep taking them though and your range of movement increases. I think from memory I went through about 20 of them in all (20 days worth), but after say 12 days or so, my back was just like normal again. The last 7 days or so was just basically to get rid of any traces of inflamation. I took my last one back on Sunday, and haven’t had any since. No back pain either, which is a bloody great relief. It can though heal quickly, and one day you’ll suddenly feel really good, whereas the day before it would have be hurting like usual. Of course everyone’s different and different injuries will take longer or shorter to get better etc …... but hopefully yours will be back to normal soon buddy. And yes …..... I am enjoying seeing Essendon in the shite at the moment.

Mate – seriusly – Id be getting to a good chiro asap. I go to one every 2 weeks and haven’t had any back pain at all for a good couple of years. (touch wood)

they have acorosive effect on you stomach, prolonged use or very large doses tend to give you ulcers, I know because I used them almost daily for the last 10 years of playing rugby, bad back, knee, ankle etc. Goldy, try an osteo, I have had a bad back for years and went thriugh the physio, chiro route then tried and osteo and it improve markedly to the point now I only visit every 4-6 weeks instead of very fortnight for the chiro and physio

Thanks for all the good tips gents – I’ve got more physio booked next week, and I’m seeing the doc tonight about anti-inflamms….and if anyone would like to sacrifice a chicken in my name…well that can’t hurt either. Except for maybe the chicken.
