Well it was a funny old match out there today. Beautiful course but very hilly which didn’t bode well for us in the 30 degree plus heat. I thought at one stage it might be a case of last-man-standing winning the match.

But in the end Francie took the bikkies through 19 holes. It was a topsy-turvy match and I think both of us will admit we didn’t play our best golf. Francie got out to a two up lead though seven but after realising I should put the driver away I managed to win 5 in a row to go 3 up through 12.

After losing the 3 subsequent holes we walked to the 16th all square. I won the 16th, Francie the 17th, so it was down to the final hole. I managed to pull something out of my ass and sink a 20 footer from the fringe to halve the hole with a par.

But the golf Gods decided to restore some karma to Francie on the 19th and hand him the match with a comfortable two-put from a solid green in reg.

Great day, great course and a great win by Francie.

It was a funny game today…....I think we only squared 2 holes all day. I thought after losing 5 holes in a row from the 8th I had given it away. Can’t believe you won the 10th with an 8 only because you had a shot. ;-)

Definitely agree that some of the golf was pretty average but you hit some lovely long irons and 3 woods. Can’t believe you are playing off 15 and I felt pretty confident backing you at the OOM at SL for a win in B grade. It’s just a matter of time ….....and when you get the driver going you are a monty for the B grade long driver.

I think I was lucky in the end…........good luck with your “other” match play events throughout the year.

OOMBET did take some money from some punters on the boy from C’wealth. In the know they might be. But with Robnewy’s mate Reid smashing it past the A graders and the the likes of Lefty Tiges in there, it’s fast becoming the hardest fought out category.

Probably April Frank….we’re arranging to play the game over the Easter weekend…it’s the first one we can get together on…so I’m assuming that whichever one of us wins will play you in April.

The only result to report today…I had a win over Spartan at Patto River, 6 and 5.

Enjoyed the day…Patto in great nick, and we shared the round with Ari and Rawdon…who had their own matchplay for fun…Rawdon was 3 up after 3, and it ended up being square going down 18. Rawdon winning 1 up.
