Gee matchplay is a bloody good format. Taking opportunities / creating some pressure where you have shots is really interesting. Kind of like chess really. Thanks Peaksy for the game. I can see why you’re off 7. Just so bloody solid tee to green. It was a great walk. One of Peaksy’s great comments of the day after I put my tee shot to within 4 foot on the par 3, 15th. “Great, Now I need a (expletive) hole in one and hope you miss the friggin putt” :) But for me, today was all about the pressure Goldy was creating on Geoff. I wish the pros played matchplay here so I could go watch them. Great day guys, thanks for the invite.

Congratulations to VC for your win over peaksy today, and to…...me…..for my win over CB80. VC will play Bernie Larkham in the round 2, whilst I will play the winner of Rohan and Spartan.

That was a fun day VC, if not a little nerve-racking at the start. I really thought I’d get interested in your game with peaksy to the deteriment of my own….but in the end, I really found that I could only concentrate on my own match. All I know is…there is no way you should be off 33. Geoff and peaksy both played well today….but the start that they were spotting proved too difficult when you and I both played well, too. Fun day…..thanks to the 3 of you for the enjoyable day.

Well done to Steve on a good win. I can see why you play section 3 pennant. I was under pressure all day. Thought I played as well as I could on the front 9 and was still 1 down. Got it back to all square before you got away again and then the disaster on 16 to hand you the match. Thanks for the day mate. enjoyed it. Thanks to Koiom and BGH. Your match was great to watch as well. You both hit some great draws. Wish I could hit the draw. BGH to within 6 inches on the par 3 9th was the shot of the day. koiom with the wedge from 50 meters out on the 15th to within 3 inches was also a highlight. BGH thanks for hosting us at Commonwealth. Cannot speak highly enough of how good a track it is. Was a pleasure walking the course and sharing some crownies on tap afterwards. Thanks again guys and Goodluck to the winners in the next round.

Well no bites on that one…... Bully 2 up winner over Oz. Oz played some good golf, especially his birdie on the first. He was 2 and 3 up during the front nine, but I managed to get it back to 1 down at the turn. I won the next 3 or 4 to go 3 up. Then Oz brought it back to 1 up with one to go. Oz then went for the big dog over the creek on 18 but didn’t quite make it. I hit a 4 iron just short of the creek, then my shot of the day (and to be honest, the only decent one), I hit a 3 iron to within5 foot of the pin and the win over Oz. Thanks Oz…you are playing well.

Congratulations Goldensorefoot I was beaten(thumped) 5 and 4 by a better player on day. It was an enjoyable day and not unhappy with my game but just had to give you too many shots relative to how well you played. Bad luck to Peaksy as well, he also played great against VC and when consider he was giving 26 shots thats a hell of a lot to rake in. Well played Vinum Coupe, best I have seen you play and you stood up to the pressure from Peaksy. Goldenfoot Your tee shots to day were long and accurate and par 3 holes were well played. (as we commented peaksy and I would have had a good match) good luck in the next round to Goldy and to Vinum.. OOMbet take note if Goldenfoot plays like that again he will win OOM at Sanctaury lakes as he was about 5 under his handicap today with 4 holes to go in our match..

What tees were you off Bully? The big dog on 18 !!!!

I really thought I’d get interested in your game with peaksy to the deteriment of my own….but in the end, I really found that I could only concentrate on my own match. It’s interesting, because the way you and Geoff played the first 3 or so is a blur. The 33…. I wish it would piss off.

Oh, and for anyone that hasn’t played with Goldy.

I feel the same way about 23. I need to play some comps when I get back from Qld at the end of the month, and hopefully get it down closer to 20….or less??

Don’t say that, I am trying to fit in around here! Unfortunately koiom got me on a bad day (for him) where I played uncharacteristically well and I was able to take the bickies 3 & 2. Was a great day though with some good golf was played. Steve75 hit 14/15 fairways and I was six inches from my first hole-in-one on the 9th (which is about 6 feet closer than I have ever been before). koiom played great golf considering he had never even seen the course before. I was 4 up with 6 to play which quickly turned into 2 up with 4 to play thanks to a couple of darts that koiom threw to kick-in distance on the 13 and 14th. Then when I put my tee shot in the drink on 16 it looked like game on but I managed to pull something out of my ass for my approach after taking a drop and win the hole (with the help of being given a shot). Thanks for the hit lads, it was a great way to spend a beautiful Sunday morning.

Yes. You should be 16-18 the way you’re playing right now. 2 over (off the stick) on the back nine after 6. I call bandit.

Well played VC and G-. Both CB and myself played pretty well and still had our pants pulled down. I was 3 over par after 9, and was 3 down, not much more I could have done.
