bloody hot today and was nice to get the win over my little mate. He did make me earn it. My 7 iron did me well today, missed a hole in 1 by about a foot. Muzz put the pressure on when he drained a long one on the same hole for his birdy…..

1st hole is a downhill par 3 playing 152m
Russ hit the green, as i did but i didnt hold it. So russ is 2 up after 2
hauled it back to 1 up after 6, russ then won 8 with a solid par
9th is a small down hill par 3, usually 118m
was playing 132 in to a very strong northerly.
Russ hit a fine high cut to 4 feet, i dropped mine in the pot.
got my ball to a tap in par, russ missed his bird, was a slick down hill across putt so no gimme. all square
i won 10 with a par = 1 up
on 11 russ nearly holes out has a 5 inch tap in bird,
i hit a slightly fat 6i and was left with a 6m putt to half
dropped it, had a cb80 fist pump.
after 14 russ is now 2 up after i have 2 hitlers in two pots.
i win the next 2 with 2 to play so all square
we half 17 with pars,
last hole is a par 5 into the wind, we both had par putts
russ was down hill and across the green, very slick
mine was less than 1m just a slight break, missed
so off to the 1st for a playoff hole.
strong down wind now,
russ finds front fringe & i find back fringe, russ gets to 6inches
i duff mine and leave 10 feet, just missed par putt & russ wins
well played mate and you where a worthy opponent.

Well done Russ…....and bad luck Kiwi…...it was tough in the conditions today.
Had a forgetful score myself today at Southern but hit some long drives with….the wind.
