first timer here guys. I take it you work out with you opponent somewhere half way between where you both live , time , dates etc and we just pay the green fees to play that course on the day ??? cheers guys

We have some caps from our sponsors as prizes for Curlewis OOM , so Goldenone a good performance might see that wish come true.

The girls did ok last year in drawing out the names for Round 1 Goldenorbs …..... so why switch?

You’ll only need to use one hat by the way.,

Fill it with south and east names. get the girls to pull one name each …...... and pull em out til its empty, then re-load the hat with the north and west guys names and get the girls to repeat.

Too easy.

(It’ll be fun to play Wasabipea up at Beacy for Round 1 . and then one of us to play Frank there in Round 2, and then on to perhaps CB up at Beacy in Round 3.)

Guys a suggestion might be to book one course west ie Sunshine or Bacchus or Le Frogge (N)and Beaconhills (East)and play some game together on same day.
but leave it up to you to arrange own times as suitable once Goldenone has won the extra caps to do the draw..

More fool you for playing at Mudway course, should have played GPJ at Le frogge (which he hates) or Sunnyshine.

Part of strategy in match play is to pick a course your opponent might not play well on or might not like.

Remember just because you are in NW or SE section doesn’t mean you have to play courses out West or out East.
you can play at Phillip Island if want to provide you both agree and you are there on holidays.

Do you have to be on holidays together?

Or is that optional?

Can it be somewhere other than Phillip Island?

If I’m in a cabin, and you’re in a tent…do I get an extra shot on the matchplay index?

Unless your missus is hotter than mine…in which case the game is conceded?

We need to know.

Goonawarra might be an option for some of the north west boys. I can arrange it for you if needed. Also Eynesbury if you have a lot of golf balls.

Once golden one has done the draw we will put up here and send to you all by email the match play index used for handicap shots.

NOTE It is not on all score cards and it is different from Stfd index.
Note also the index is standard across all courses.

For those new to match play you play off stick stroke round (not stfd) using the difference between handicaps.

for example if i was playing Golden one off 23 there is 13 shots different, so he would receive shots on 13 holes designated on match play index.

This is regardless of how difficult the hole might be.
for example at Yarrambat Goldy normally get 2 shots on first hole (stfd rating 5) and I get 1 shot.

. In match play this is rated 18 so both play as is off stick .If we both have a 4, 5 or 6 we halve hole..

So can we confirm Committee about dates?

R1 needs to be completed by the end of January?
R2 by end of Feb?

and so on and so forth?
