Alright…I am back in the game!!!

So now I plan on leaving all my possible GIR shots on the fringe of every green putting up to 1 foot,landing all the 1 putts, parring the course and walking away with 45 points.

That should get me the bag of balls, cash and the overall WIN.

As you know, I don’t really give a tinkers cuss about handicaps …. I just think that the person who has put in the hard yards, and done the work over the years to become the best golfer out of the 60 odd guys who play in the OOM …... deserves to be rewarded.

Call me old fashioned …........ but I think the best golfer should always win.

No wind issue CB, in fact I really like it, played some of my best golf at Port Fairy and the Bool. Having 36 putts will screw your score and yeah I haven’t been hitting it well. As I pointed out my scores since June have been ordinary.

But hey I can’t wait for curlewis will be great fun and a fitting end to an enjoyable year. The OOM is wide open, that’s not trying to deflect pressure, it’s just a fact, and that will make it even more interesting.

Any chance we can organize a scoreboard for the day :)

I’ve been trying to think of a way this could work…

Perhaps if the last few groups down 18 wait 10-15min (or just drop them back in the tee times a bit) to ensure most of the gallery can get green side. We could get an update from the tee so we knew where everyone stood… Could work…

Anyone outside the top 8 would need to shoot into the mid 40s to upset the scoreboard to it’ll likely come down to these two groups.

With a little tweaking, Goldies super scoring spreadsheet could easily generate a ‘scoreboard’.

Agreed with smergs. The better players already know whom they are, as do the rest of te field. This is a friendly comp with a bunch of guys just looking to get out, have a hit and have a laugh. I know of another social group whom are playing their last leg in 2 weeks and their overall winner takes home a trip for two and accommodation to Vietnam. Competition is getting fierce and it ain’t all friendly either.

I’m thinking of taking Bernie out for dinner and drinks the night before, that should take care of him.

Kiwi your form holds as usual. Bad warm up round to then come good and shoot 40+ points on the day when it counts. Let the mind games begin.
