Player FORM GUIDE for Waterford Valley 19th February 2012
V indicates Vision Ball player

M indicates Mizuno user
.
P indicates Pony Handicap

P & B (V) No 1 and rightly so -current Vic OOM champion – will be fired up for this, in good form at moment he is going to be hard to beat here as length of course will favour his game, main concern is he is untried over this course and no one has won an OOM on untried course. going to have to really pump hard at this one as he will miss R2 and runs risk of falling off OOM pace early .Formguide predicts this added pressure to his challenge may favour his chances..(finish top 10)

kiwi (V)(M) new offensive and defensive tactics will make him very hard to beat -well handicapped to win and he is playing well, likes the course – be really brave man not to have Kiwi in his list of possible winners or in trifecta . He wants another OOM victory. some concern as he is not drawn well here.(top 5)

DJ Craig Has just got his tour handicap -watch out he is a class performer. Current betting has him as RED HOT Favourite to win here. some in know have taken him at short odds to win the overall OOM title for 2012.

cb80 (V) Mr Consistant – 2nd in last years final to P &B, showed good form in match play.Usually plays very well on difficult courses and in wind. Can he break 80 and grab his first OOM victory. Some doubters question whether has he got the X factor as he seemed to stumble slightly(CHOKE) under the presssure in previous events when near the lead.(top 10)

OZ devil Now he has finished helping santa deliver all the beer and toys he can focus on winning more OOM’s. hot form in trafalgar game. We can expect a big one from the Devil, as no bushes near the second at WV. (top 3 in C grade)

hacky the greatest poor form at vic open pre Q, struggled to kill off his opponent quickly in match play, handicap going out. Mick still has heaps of t shirts,Fan mail has dropped off as well as his postings. IS HE GONE? (top 10)

bucks Has big home ground advantage at Waterford – so far no one with home advantage has won an OOM event….MAYBE he can be the first , formguide likes his chances (top 5)

old bogey on current anchored handicap he should be strong C grade challenger. If he repeats his Albert park form from a few weeks ago in OOM he WILL win the Orange vest.(bottom 10)

wasabiea recent winner of beacon hills classic although a big step up in class here at OOM-, if he can repeat this form again he may just grab the title, formguide has him as good each way odds to grab C grade(top 3 in C grade)

hitthrough it contender for long drive (to course) sadly he was down on form in OOM final, won his match play r1 game. A class player who seems to struggle on difficult OOM courses.he will be in finish somewhere.(top 10)

Deep Practice (V)(M) Russ has _is able to make a quick change in a golf cart to become Deep Practice, will Russ play or deep practice ? sadly he will need to waittill R2 at Hidden Valley to win Milky bar challenge.Won OOM R2 last year so he will be a contender for C grade at good odds, not well drawn here and this might work against him(mid field)

robnewy (V) wins C grade at his first OOM start at Keysy, then runs last at Beacon hills classic. His tee shot off first at beacon hills was simply memorable and gone into ISG Vic great shots hall of fame,, another start and round like that and he will be deeply in danger zone for the Orange VEST, he is well drawn here so that will help his nerves.(mid field)

topcat former winner of C grade consistent performer -expect a strong challenge here for C grade at better than each way odds. Has a great draw which will help his game

ironmick(M) former OOM NAGA winner, has many strong challengers for his title here on this tough course, form guide predicts he will present the coverted Orange vest to someone else after this game. He has new clubs and new swing and lost two shots off handicap with a creditable 51 points at Dorset -shows he means business. It could be a long night in the bar at WV if mick was to get up here.

koiom(M) good player on home course -who struggles to find his true potential on difficult OOM courses like Waterford Valley and usually finishes no higher than mid field. Showed some real promise in a recent game at Lang Lang where he parred the back 9, and this moves him into notice for this game..playing with Kiwi which will help his game.(top 10)

kickithome challenged well in difficult conditions at OOM R4 at keysy, winner of golden stubby award at ER .don’t be surprized if he wins the big one here now he has his new handicap in his favour – big chance

francie (V)(M) struggling at moment don’t write him off just yet, good result in his match play event where he showed signs of his best handicap is coming down and he has moved up a grade since last year.- expect a big performance from him in one of OOM’s, always have him down for your trifecta in OOM’s(B grade winner)

smergen (V) The bacchus marsh under 80 wonder who fails to play well on difficult OOM courses-Inventor of the golden stubby game. He has the game to win at moment in good form, however he is untried at this course which is a big worry , suggest a good place bet based on shear talent..

golftime had a WO in match play so he now thinks ISG golf no worries its easy win every time – wont be a push over here.has had good performances in previous OOM strarts so expect him to do well here. (mid field)

stinkler (V)(M) nearly grabbed the NAGA at OOM 3 on his home course at Frog where he failed to stay, was jet lagged when finished last at Bacchus, on current form at Woodlands and Waterford Valley the betting suggests THIS IS IT …AGAIN. He would be a popular NAGA winner.

bernielarkham challenged for NAGA several times in OOM’s last year. He is good player who has yet to perform to his true potential under the enourmous pressure of OOM

gpj (V)(M) long driver who has cut back power now to, hit fairway. Expect him to be a consistent performer in all OOM’s this year -good one to have as outside chance. Note to his playing partners bring foreign coins as ball markers

wozz former putting champ at Frog ,poor form at keysborough where challenged for NAGA most of day, struggled in match play- hard to see him winning here in this top class field.(mid field)

jrg1116 finished mid field in his OOM starts in 2011 expect same here in this class field, Untried at this track, if he can get it around without too much damage to score he could challenge strongly for C grade

brtbboy new chum having first OOM start. He wont have experienced anything like this anywhere so nerves and OOM pressure will be a big fctor.he just defeated Iron mick 1up in match play at this course so formguide thinks he could seriously challenge for NAGA.

fairway bomber (V)(P) not seen at OOM’s for some time, coming back in to such a talented field here may be a shock to him, will be strong contender for N grade as long hitting course will favour his big bombing game..

bullyo4 contender for long drive (to course) current putting champ and a good solid player, now playing out of a difficult course shows he has talent, although big greens at Valley plus playing course for first time may give him trouble, expect strong showing here despite being down on form in match play(top5 in Agrade)

Golden Falcon game improving with each OOM start, showing good form of late, he is the smokey, formguide thinks while everyone is watching the big stars, he might just sneek through field and pop up as outside chance for C grade, although hard to see him grabbing the big one here. formguide has recently take a sizable bet at good odds for him to win C grade championship after R5
.
cb80+1 (little dave)(V)(P) Having his first OOM start, infact his first ever golf tournament, will start at 1000:1 to win here, -he will loose lots of balls this trip that is for sure and be beaten around by the course.N grade class where he will need to do somthing special to contender to win this grade…

goldy+2(Ian) having first OOm start he wont know whats hit him, He will be nervous and find this a strong challenge in a star studded field, unknown around this track, if he stays out of lakes, away from snakes and doesn’t loose too many balls he will go home pleased.,((bottom 10)

gaz101 having first OOm start wil be nervous and will feel the enourmous pressure of OOM event, currently in good form but a bit too much to ask of him here(mid field)

goldy+3Nello (P) having first OOm start wil be nervous and will feel the enourmous pressure of OOM event so too much to ask this time.
spartan Scratching -previous form guide had him as top NAGA favorite – with spartan out lots of others now move in NAGA contention.

bomberclarke showed good promise in his first ISG start at Bacchus and pushed hacky the great in match play, -might surprize if can overcome nerves and OOM pressure otherwise he will be in NAGA zone for most of day. Like his chances better in R4 which is his home track.(mid field)

peaksey good player in previous OOm performances and showed his class in match play against the angry bear he -will beat GPJ for curtain pants award, outside chance, will go well in R5 at his home course.

leftytiges near NAGA winner at Keysborough in R4 – current form a complete reversal and formguide suggests he may be the dark horse in the field -watch carefully -good each way bet.
oldbogey+1 (Peter) good play at ER, may find the class in this field a bit difficult to overcome. Hard to see hime win, but he will avoid NAGA (mid field)

oldbogey+2 Gary poor form in his only OOM start last year suggests he will struggle here, bring lots of balls.(botton half of field)

goldy+2(alan) having first OOm start will be nervous and find this a strong challenge in a star studded field, poor form in recent event may see him challenge for NAGA most of the day (bottom 10)

Tippy(P) Form unknown at this course, has played OOM before will challenge for N grade

gordonB hasnt played OOM event for a long time -welcome back after a long spell – has run right into a top field here and might find it tough going particularly as he hasnt played Waterford valley , if he avoids the NAGA he will have had a good day..(mid field)

ari having first OOm start wil be nervous and find this a strong challenge in a star studded field, untired at this course and will find it a little more challenging than one he got his tour card on. (mid field)

Sarg (P) having his first OOm start, will likely feel the enourmous pressure of OMM, he will find it hard to win even in N grade.

Shreksm Returning to OOM’s after a long lay off , coming smack back into a class field like this could be a distrction although he is well drawn here. he is good enough to do well here if he brings his A game,
one punter who cannot be named , has placed a large bet and would like to see him win NAGA.

Hot Fuzz (P) has played OOM before, but will likely feel the enourmous pressure of OMM , good challenger for N grade

leenn- Mr 46 Mr 46 BIG winner at Bacchus in December – handicapper thought so too, cutting him by 15 shots, in one game OOM record, this will really slow him down, and given he hasn’t played Waterford valley before this puts him dangerously close to the NAGA zone.(bottom 10)

Purple Pipe late entry . Having his first OOM start which will be a bit of a shock to system, hasn’t played Waterford valley so this is a worry , putted well in a recent lead up game,if he can get through round unscathed, not loose too many balls, avoid the snakes and above all avoid the Orange vest he will have a good day..(mid field)

P&B +1 (rob) Late Entry having his first Oom start, unknown at this course, no one having first OOM start has won, nor anyone who hasn’t seen course.(not sure where in field)

DTdt havingh is first Oom hitout, as name suggests he will have Dtt’s on first tee. Contestant in N grade

Russ’s new h/cap is 16.6 = so wont be in C grade,
he is very consistent
has been playing lots with me he has learnt to be patient and not go for it on all occasions which in the past was his down fall.
will be on the podium of just off.

fairway bomber (V)(P) not seen at OOM’s for some time, coming back in to such a talented field here may be a shock to him, will be strong contender for N grade as long hitting course will favour his big bombing game..

has joined a club and now has a cap
tall and long levers with nice tempo.
a nice quiet kid who will pull out his best sledge on the back 9
you can bank on it

“I’m Vince Martin & this is a blunt axe”

Sarg (P) having his first OOm start, will likely feel the enourmous pressure of OMM, he will find it hard to win even in N grade.

has just moved here to melb from qld,
he will be the one in the polar fleece
lets make him welcome as he doesn’t know anyone

“I’m Vince Martin & this is a blunt axe”

ari having first OOm start will be nervous and find this a strong challenge in a star studded field, untried at this course and will find it a little more challenging than one he got his tour card on. (mid field)

played with Ari to sign his 3rd card,
another we need to welcome as he wasnt born here.
can pound it out there when he slows his swing down
a smokey as doesnt play much due to being a new dad

“I’m Vince Martin & this is a blunt axe”

Thanks for the words kiwi. When I’m nervous as hell on the first tee I’ll try to remember to swing easy and not get fast. Can’t say it won’t happen as this is first comp game. But will be fun. Just looking not to embarass myself.

Very interesting formguide CB – thanks for posting.

I wonder if this anonymous punter would go halves in the winnings with me if I did win the NAGA? Seems only fair….......................

Will be off a handicap of 7 for Waterford, so I could be a good chance of winning the ‘I HEART NZ’ Vest.

Am playing the Old course and the Moonah course at The National on the 15th of February so this should be a good ‘warm-up’ for me.

Looking forward to the day, if SeptemberSquallNoPracticePonyBoy is a late inclusion please feel free to put him in my group.

DJdt – first timer, great odds to lose the most balls, 36 points today suggests near apocalyptic weather brings out his best. If the weather is fair, forget about it.

terrific CB, i hope the curators have been manicuring the course with an augusta like touch

we can stay here and get the shit kicked out of us
or
we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell.
One inch, at a time.

Something big will have to happen for me not to win the NAGA judging by present form, but I’ll certainly do my best not to!

Grrrrrrrr

Mate – I’ve been in reasonable form of late, but the way I hit ‘em at Eynesbury on Saturday had to be seen to be believed. As in TERRIBLE. Couldn’t get off the tee to save myself, with almost any club.

very nicely done…..the form guide.

with this oom round occurrying in the middle of the club champs, it should be in prestine nick. lets hope its good weather and the wind stays away. if the wind blows, my guess, there will be some ordinary cards handed in.

francie (V)(M) struggling at moment don’t write him off just yet, good result in his match play event where he showed signs of his best handicap is coming down and he has moved up a grade since last year.- expect a big performance from him in one of OOM’s, always have him down for your trifecta in OOM’s(B grade winner)

I have used a vision before CB but don’t tie me down as a Vision converted.

I’m pretty happy with the form at the moment, which has resulted in the handicap dropping. The last 4 or 5 rounds are “flagged” which indicates improved form so I’m quietly confident.

There’s a solid bet right there… Unless the rest of us can get in his head… Maybe I’ll brush up on my “can’t believe the dress code of some golfers” and “I wish they’d ban ciggies from everywhere” arguements…
