Count me in Gribbles, it looks reasonably well priced and if it’s any good it should be fun.

Gribbles, just talked to my boss, he’s been playing around the GC for many years and doesn’t recommend Windaroo….

yeah i’ve heard from some people that its pretty average but from others that its magic- I really would like to just see the one hole on the course that’s a double water carry. I’m open to other suggestions though mate, but i really do want to get out that friday. plus windaroo is real close to my house and i might change to there if i like it. other course i am interested in playing is possibly parkwood. although if you were keen on helensvale mate thats my home club, and it’d cost you next to nothing- let me know.

I was just checking out the vouchers section on here, and Gold Coast Country Club will let us on for $16.20 on Fridays…it doesn’t get a great review but it does have some pedigree…. and at that price….

Yeah, i’m not that keen on it, i’ve heard some shocking reviews for that track- although i know windaroo is only $20 after 2… Still gotta see whats happening with work though, there’s a rumor getting around that our site is being audited that day, which would be terrible. I missed a golf day at colonial last time that happened…

have to agree with you gribbles, the pro there is a knob, if its the same guy

Seems all you guys are on the GC – I’m in Bris Nth….

<- NO THATS NOT ME

That’s cool Gribbles, I might go there for a looksee anyway. Still like to have a hit on Friday though, keep me appraised of the situation.

I am still keen on a hit anywhere that suits you. Windaroo is ok, but I would like to tee off in the morning, the extra 13bucks would ok.

gday cliff, i think gccc is probably best value for money course on the northern end of the coast. the course itself is a very good & challenging layout & is currently in the best condition its been for the 2 years ive been playing there, courtesy of the summer rain & constant grey water supply they have. it can be a little different in that the course is on private land and the pro leases the course therefore they need to be $$ driven. They also have an arrangement whereby a sheet comes out at 4.30pm friday for the saturday week comp the next week, can be a pain at times but usually no problem to get a game, i think i missed once in 2 years. all in all as i said at the start pretty good value for a good track, i think they have 2 for 1 membership deal in June which equates to about $450 for full 7 day membership, mine is up for renewal soon so if you are interested let me know & could help each other out.
cheers brett

Brett I am very interested but I would like to play the course first, is there any chance you can get in 18 on friday?

unfortunately work interferes during the week & i only play saturday comps & maybe a few holes during the week if it drys up.
if you have a golflink handicap im sure you could play as a guest in wed comp (weather permitting) or alternatively as a green fee player any other day. they are always keen for new members so a quick call and see what they can organise, sorry i cant be any more help. Brett

relax & enjoy, it's just a game.......

That’s cool Brett, I have realised since I asked you that I have played the back nine earlier this year.

I did enjoy it even though it seemed a touch short, apparently it’s fairly long off the back tees. But what I don’t like is the fact that as a member you don’t have any controlling rights over the direction of the club.

Still, it is a good option. And I did like the greens and fairways, it was nicely done.

just fyi front 9 is about 300? longer, as far as direction i hear what you say. from what i have seen commitee are pretty good in pushing the barrow for members, as long as course is ok & i can get a game the other stuff to be honest is irelevant to me.

Just to fill you guys in, as expected my friday off is now gone. site inspection from our client means I’m tied up all day, smiling nicely at people while they pick our job apart…..

I have leave the week ending 4/7, and wouldn’t mind a game at Windaroo or one of the coast courses sometime in there if you’re up for it?

It's surprisingly easy to hole a 50-foot putt when you lie 10.
