I am fairly new to golf, but very keen, and am looking to play on a regular basis in and around Brisbane.
Anyone interested?

im fairly new to golf i have had around 6 games of golf and i have managed to shave my score from the 120 mark to 98-100 in that time. I’m also looking for some playing partners. We should tee up a game sometime, what courses do you play on?

Where abouts are you guys located? I don’t have that much free time at the moment but will be able to get out regularly in the future and am new as well.

I have not yet joined a club but have played at Nudgee and Brisbane Golf Club. I dont really mind where I play. Do you have a preference?

I would normally play Caboolture and the One Mile but at he moment time is limited 20 mnt old and 7 week old. What suburb do you live in? I’m Narangba.

Hey Sarg im located just outside of bris in west end. Caboolture is a bit of a hike and i couldnt do it regularly. If we can find a course half way between that would be great.

Pine Rivers….

Yeah that is a bit far to go. Pine river’s might be the go then ddasey could show us around and give us some pionters :-)

It would be my pleasure…

Count me in when do we tee off?

That describes me also. I’d be interested in joining you. I live in the Valley. I have plenty of spare time atm, at least for the next few weeks.

I suppose all we need to do is settle on a time and day.

At the moment I am on leave from work till the 1st June (Just had third child – beautiful little girl).

I would prefer this to happen on a Thursday or Friday if possible as my two boys would be at school and day care.

The more the merrier. Once we settle on a day I will check with the club to see if this suits.

Cheers

I work full time and can only play on sat’s or sun’s. Time is not an issue so i can fit in around you guys with family commitments. Just let me know when and where and i will show.

(Just had third child – beautiful little girl).

Congratulations! Hope she’s doing well.

I’m easy on the venue and the time so I’ll let you guys sort that out – could be a conundrum there :). I’ve only ever played the back nine at Pacific. My knowledge of Brisbane courses is almost nonexistent – been in Brisbane just a few years, from Adelaide originally.

It would be nice to go somewhere where there’s a practice area but not essential – I can always stop in at a driving range on the way, I definitely need to practice before tho :). I’d prefer paying the usual $30 for 18 but could go higher, probably not as high as $100+ tho.

I’ve been doing some research on the net recently on Brisbane courses and these are the standouts apparently:

Brookwater
$135 too expensive but it’s the best in Brisbane by far.
Located Brookwater, 24km SW of city

North Lakes
$80
Located Mango Hill, 27km N of city

Indooroopilly (west course better than east course)
$60 ($35 if booked on the net). Driving Range avail. I think?
Located Indooroopily, 6km SW of city

Brisbane
cost ?
Located Yeerongpilly, 7km SW of city

Wynnum
$28
Located Wynnum, 14km E of city

Pacific
$40 sat-sun, $30 Tues-fri, $22.50 Mon. Driving Range avail.
Located Carindale, 10km SE of city
Descr: A little tight and twisty, more up and down holes than flat. Challenging.

Keperra
$40 Sun, $35 Mon-fri, can only play 9 holes sat after 3pm $20.
Located Arana Hills, 10km NW of city

Windaroo
$33
Located Windaroo, 34km SE of city, exit 34 Pacific Freeway

Some other notables:

Nudgee
$35 nth course, $30 Sth course. Driving Range avail.
Located Nudgee, 12km NE of city off Gateway motorway

Gailes
$33 sat-sun, $27.50 Tues-Fri, $22 Mon
Located Wacol, 18km SW of city

Redcliffe
$30 sat-sun, $25 mon-fri
Located Clontarf, 24km NE of city, up Gateway highway and over to redcliffe

Bribie
$30
Located 46km NE of city

congrates dd how old? My second, little girl, is ten weeks so finding time is hard much the same as you. I’m easy I only work the start of the week though I could swing a weekend if that suits janx but it can’t be this weekend.

B1 i don’t think the green fee’s are over $30.

Yeah, sorry, if Pine Rivers has been decided it’s $20 Sun-Fri, Sat $? (can’t hurt to dump my research in this thread).

Im from adelaide, have been here 1 year.
i like the birkdale course i have kinda made that my home course because its cheap, good for my skill level, in reasonably good condition and mainly a public course. I like the pacific golf course and my home driving range is victoria park, you can find me there twice a week. I would love to play some new courses and pine rivers suits me fine.

No worries was looking at your list and I want to play bribie at some stage.

Might be another day for us in the future, though that would be a killer trip for Janx :-)

Im up for it :) i like visiting new places especially golf courses in QLD. So is the pine rivers golf day next weekend? what time suits everyone?

Bribie should probably be up in the top five but I won’t move it until I’ve played it. That list is just net opinions. Take them with a grain of salt. For me they’re just a guide; I won’t judge anything until I’ve played it.

Next weekend may be a bit far ahead to play a game of golf with complete strangers? :) At the moment I’m free next weekend but if there was one thing I would cancel on it would be a golf game with unknowns if something came up. Maybe finalize mid next week?.

Who knows that club the most? Does it get busy on the weekend? How busy? It’ll just take someone to set a suitable time and everyone else can then jump on board.

Btw, if this matters, I’m male 35 Architectural Drafter, cyclist dude.

...and I shouldn’t be saying dude if I’m 35 should I :).

Ddasey is a member there (pine rivers) he’ll know… dd can you make a weekend game?

I’d be interested in having a hit sometime. By the sounds of it you guys have something organised but if you’re planning anything else in the future I’ll be in it for sure. I’m at Ashgrove and don’t mind traveling, weekends are probably best for me at the moment. Keep me posted :)
Cheers

If we get something organised your welcome to come along.

Suggest you look at Premier Players deal at Nth Lakes.
