Which is a good provider for this? Im considering virgin on their $39 per month plan. Any suggestions or feedback?
 

currently on 3G. $29 p/mth for 3gigs. very fast. shame unused gig does not roll over to next mth.
 

We have 2 notebooks at work running Telstra 3G and we don’t have any problems. Reception is great but the pricing is pretty ordinary.

We’re now considering 3G who have some pretty good reviews.

Have a look through Whirlpool Forums for some unbiased opinions about the various options available.

I had it for the missus when she was living at Kahibah last year, smack in the middle of newcastle , and couldn’t get a signal in 95% of the house.

Also had no signal here at my home.

vastly overrated i think. I suggest that you borrow someones laptop with it set up and test it at home ( or wherever you most plan to use it) before committing

i’m in the same boat. looking at the virgin $39 deal for my laptop.
 

looking at going for the optus plan. The mrs is with optus for a phone, so can bundle and get 5g download for $39 per month with no set up fees etc. Abit weary of the virgin wireless.

Just have a quick check of iprimus – my bro is a bit of a computer geek and has changed to it because of speed – sposed to be super fast – me? I’ll stick with Telstra, I think they rip me off occassionally but don’t have any problems…lol

I connected it yday and it was getting a good speed. The signal was only around 20% around Wallsend and i was getting between 80 – 100 kb/s. Thats fast enough for me. The wireless system will only improve in the future too.
 

i got telstra 3g (supplied by work). brilliant. fast, doesn’t disconnect. I’d hate to be paying the bill though!

Yeah the bigpond stuff is good, but it is very pricey.
 

We have optus fusion, with unlimited gigs, and unlimited local and interstate phone calls, there are different rates depending on your usage, all packaged, phone and internet.
