looking to visit Cairns later this year, October.
need a bit of info.
golf, attractions, accomodation,hints, tips.
hopefully a party of 4 all around the dreaded 50s agegroup. Must say avey young 50s

Are you flying or driving. I believe the Balaclava hotel is offering some good accomodation deals at the moment Several good golf courses in the area.& way to many attractions to list here . green Island is worth a visit & the tablelands area has plenty to see.
We just had a group take a weekend trip. I think they played Sea Temple at Port Douglas.& Paradise palms near Cairns. With 2 nights accomodation thrown in for just over $200. Will see if I can find out where he got the deal from.

Paradise Palms & Sea Temple AKA The Links at Port Douglas are both great courses. Play these before any others IMHO.

Spoke to the guy that organised the trip. said he just rang the individual clubs & made the arrangements. Did suggest that paying cash reduced the cost somewhat.

I visited OZ for a break in April and I stayed at the Rydges on the esplanade and got a great room for 99AUD also have a great dinner buffet for around 30AUD. I once stayed at the Balaclava a few years ago and it was the pits!! I hope it’s changed.

I played twice at Sea Temple and it was great..a couple of the greens weren’t too crash hot but overall very enjoyable. I played once at Paradise Palms but it has really gone to the dogs compared to a few years ago, a bit of waste of money especially at 120 a round.

i was up in cairns last month for my wedding we stayed at the lakes it was great an very nice, its a little out of town about a 15 buck cab ride to the casino. the best part of the trip apart from getten married was the croc farm its about 30 min north of cairns.
