Been thinking about getting a .50 caliber rifle to compliment the .308. I’ve been looking at the Barrett 82A1 because there is an excess new stock on them right now and can get one well below MSRP. Think I should get it? :-D

I’d prefer an OICW Land Warrior. Great for the golf course ‘cos you can make new bunkers or clear trees on the fly. All that and the ability to neutralise bastard rabbits and magpies.

I figured you guys should see the size of the bullet I need to buy. From left to right, they are a .50, .338, .308, and 5.56 NATO rounds. For your reference, the .50 round is about the length of a Coke can. The standard .22 round is about 3/8ths the size of the smallest round in the picture.

Of course you should get it, in fact get two.

No you could kill an array of things, but i think in terms of man killing power, it would rate highly.

While there is nothing wrong with a 50 cal, you might find it a bit heavy to cart around. Can’t really go past a Desert Eagle .50. Plently of stopping power and you can carry it in your handbag or back pack if you are out and about.

You might not be able to stop a snowboarder from 1800 m, but you will be able to turn a snowboarder into Pink Mist if he gets within 50.

Ya, with the scope, 29 inch barrel, and a full clip of ammo it will weight around 40 pounds, but I can live with that. Whats going to suck is ammo is around $5 a round, so likes like hitting a ProV1 once and never hitting it again.
