Knew this looked dodgey from the very beginning.The 24 yr old woman who was said to have been raped by a number of teenage boys after she invited them home , has been charged with under age sex and perverting the course of justice,She’d alleged that they must have spiked her drink. Never made sense that a woman of this age would invite teenage boys into her home and sit around drinking champagne unless she was either astonishingly naive or was planning something .When I originally mentioned this to my wife she was outraged at my allegedly sexist point of view. The fact that the woman had only complained months later after it appeared on You Tube should have made police suspicious at the time.

I am gonna put everyone against me by saying a hell of a lot of “spiked drink rapes” are by soapy bloody sheilas that get pissed and the bloke (blokes) that are in the vicinity that have the chance ,take it.Has happened for years but until lately technology hasn’t allowed it to be broadcast to the masses and nothing is going to change in the near future until the person in the video can give their approval by way of some sort of electronic fingerprint or signature.When I was going to school or tech if I was shown some extra-curricular activities by a teacher of the opposite sex I would not have went to the authorities but now I am getting off the thread :}

Touchy subject. Obviously rapists are a special sort of bastard that only the worst torture is fit for…

...however, a woman can shout rape and be protected by annonymity laws (especially here in the UK) whilst the man is pillorised as a rapist (whatever happened to innocent till proved guilty?) in the media and by society in general.

In cases where the man is found not guilty or the case is dropped, the damage is done and the man will always have the guilt through the ‘no smoke without fire’ principle – yet the woman is never charged with wasting police time.

Styles, I disagree, a woman risks a lot by accusing someone of rape, I don’t think many would press charges lightly.

reasons for this are
regardless of the outcome the woman will be accused of asking for it
there is often other relationships that will become involved if the rapist is a friend or family member
the relationship between the rapist and victim often involves other power relationships that make it difficult for the victim to come forward
the woman often blames them self for being in the situation leading to the rape

I am not able to comment on this case as I do not know that much about it, but I think care needs to be taken so that it does not become another reason for victims of rape not to come forward.

when it comes down to it I believe rape is wrong and there is no reason to make excuses for the perpetrators

Really? Where is this part of Asia you speak of? Having lived in Asia for 7 years now I know that, the more third world you get the more womens rights fail to exist.

Are you actually confusing the word “condemnation” (which I posted) with “commendation”?.That’s all I can possibly think of .
It’s women who falsely claim to have been raped who make things impossible for the genuine victims.
